Amazing Tour and a Shining STAR - I had an amazing experience on the Off The Beaten Path Food Tour - Dinner in Pitillal! Our guide, STAR, was warm, kind, and full of energy, making the entire evening feel both engaging and welcoming. She was also incredibly mindful of sustainability, providing reusable cups to minimize waste at each stop - such a thoughtful touch! The tour took us to family-owned, local spots that truly showcased the key ingredients and flavors that define Puerto Vallartaā€™s cuisine. Every dish was delicious, and Star provided rich history and context that deepened our appreciation for what we were eating. If youā€™re looking for an authentic, insightful, and delicious food experience away from the tourist crowds, I highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful Experience With A Soul - Absolutely wonderful! My mother and I attended and the other woman who was supposed to show up didn't, so it was a very personalized experience. I enjoyed getting to know the history of the food from what people ate long long ago to how the food evolved with the Spaniards and shift in religion. It was wonderful to step into a community that is the heart and soul of Puerto Vallarta - that is, the working class and locals. As a guest in their home. Everything we ate was so wonderful - I'll be dreaming of that first dish for a long time! Every meal came with a taste of a drink as well, and I think I'll be adding chia seeds to a lime drink from now on. Our host was friendly and well spoken and there were plenty of dishes with time to eat, digest, and spare.

Ten outta Ten!!! - I (we) couldnā€™t speak more highly of the food tour we took with Star!! Aside from every single thing we tasted being unique, mind blowing and delicious, the experience itself felt like such an adventure. Star shared about the history of the foods, how they are typically eaten, different variations you may encounter, etc. it was truly a rich experience in so many ways beyond just flavor. Itā€™s also a plus when you walk into a restaurant and you can tell you are eating where all of the locals eat as one of their favorite placesā€”and you gotta be quick cuz they may run out of what they serve itā€™s so popular! Star is a delight of a human, and her excitement for what she does is contagious, we had so much fun!! We only did the food tour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try local cuisine, but Iā€™m also absolutely sure based on how amazing our experience was, that any tour you pick will be turn into a treasured memory. Ā”Muchas gracĆas, Star!

Do t miss this tour - food and culture with a local! - Excellent! The best way to experience Mexico is through the eyes of a local, and this tour has that in spades. Not just trying new foods, but we learned a lot about the food and also the culture of a Mexican neighbourhood by ChaCha who lives right there. She took us to all the places she eats at.
