A fun day trip from Puerto Vallarta - We just did this experience and it was definitely worth the time and money. Our driver/guide, Sergio (aka Mr. Clean), was top notch. A few things to note as it wasn't super clear in the description: this is about a 6 hour experience pick up to drop off (8AM to 2PM) and there will be a walking/hiking element that is steep, but doable for most people. There was an older man in his 60s that trailed but made it to the waterfall and back. The ride from pick up (Zona Romantica) to the ranch is just over an hour with other pickups along the way. Two of the six hour experience is just logistics. Once there, the horseback ride is an easy 1-1.5 hours (depending on group size and speed) along a winding rocky river. You'll see butterflies, snakes, fish, goats and cattle along the way. The horse are well trained and know the route so no need to actually "steer" them, they know where to go. The guides also provided water to us along the way. At the midpoint of the ride, you'll dismount and walk up and down some steps to a waterfall for a break. This area is federal land and off the ranch, you'll see when you pass through a gate and fencing. The waterfall and small pool is shallow, so no need to bring your bathing suit. After riding back, next event is the zipline course with 7 legs with the last being 1500 ft (500m) long. First line ziplining for us, but the guides were competent and never felt unsafe. It did feel a little rushed as they tried to get I think 11 of us through, but it was very fun. If you want to get pictures, you'll need to plan your launch order a bit as they sent us one after the other. By the middle of the course, we discussed with another couple to mix in so that the first person on the other side could enjoy their ride, unhook, and get the camera ready to record their partner coming in without feeling too rushed. After the zipline, we were complete with activities and had lunch while another group who was doing the ATVs went on their trip. By this time it was past noon so we were starving and enjoyed some homemade food and margaritas. The guacamole was without exaggeration, the best we had that trip! We had lunch for half an hour to an hour before the final ride back to our pick up point.

We might book this again just 3 days later! - This was so much fun! The guide was hilarious and our lunch was so good. There were lemurs everywhere on the ride to the Rancho 😂

Fun, good food and drinks. Best bang for your $$$ - We had a great time. The van to the place had A/C so it was comfortable, but the van was half full. The place for the activities was beautiful. All the staff were kind and friendly. Most spoke english. ATV ride was fun and long enough. Be sure to bring sunglasses or eye gear to avoid dust from the ATV in front of you during the dry time of the year. Zip line was fun and easy. If you go for a horse ride, there are more zip lines to try out. Lunch is provided with drinks. He had beer, margaritas and tasted some of their tequila. Food for lunch is homemade and one of the best meals we hade during our trip. Highly recommend.

THE BEST EVER - I went on this tour back in November 2019. It was my first time in Mexico and it truly felt like home. I had the best time with my family and the horseback riding, ATV ride & lunch was all amazing. My cousin and I both forgot our wallets and bags in the van and we panicked but thank goodness Sergio drove all the way back to meet us at Walmart. I will forever tell everyone about this tour in Puerto Vallarta. My Tia just moved there so I will be going back with her to show her this amazing place! Love rancho capomo.

Perfect Family ATV Tour - To start they have clean restrooms to use before heading out on your activity. We did the ATV tour an it was excellent. You get to drive in the road, on dirt roads, back streets and the most fun through small little towns. The guides let you do your thing and are great throughout. Bring sunglasses to be able to see as there is a lot of dirt. The food and drinks after hit the spot and were wonderful. We personally drove to the ranch since we had a rental so I didn’t have many drinks but they are very generous. I would definitely recommend this place for any activity and would personally go back also. Thank you so much Ranch Capomo! Absolutely worth every penny.

Great side adventure - Great trip! The staff was friendly and fun. The hike to the falls was substantial and involved a lot of stairs, but was worth it. Wear good shoes, and dress comfortably.

That lunch was delicious! - The horses were well cared for, the ranch was beautiful, the homemade tequila was wonderful, and the lunch was very memorable!! Unfortunately it was dry season and the river/waterfall was dry. We wish we could have ridden a little longer.

Not safe, no direction, no communication… - The start of our experience was not pleasant. The Ranch driver picked us up at a Starbucks. When the van pulled up it was at full capacity. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children). The driver says we don’t have enough seats, can the children sit on your lap? Do we even have a choice? We get into the van to see there are two seats the width of 3 feet with no leg room to fit my 205lb husband, myself 135lbs, my two children each 105lbs. We then drive like this for 50 min. I have never been more uncomfortable in my life squeezed in like a sardine next to another large man sweating all over me. I was hoping the trip would get better…Once we arrived at the ranch there was no communication on the agenda of activities. We stood around with know idea what was to come or expect. Then they yell for us to come closer to the horses, they just start randomly telling people to get on horses. No explanation on how long the ride is, where will we go, what we will see. I’m an equestrian and compete in horse show jumping in the states so maybe my expectations are higher than most but the condition of these horses, mules and donkeys was awful! All emaciated, had worms, huge wounds on their bodies and hooves. One was bleeding and oozing fluid from his hoof. There were about 50+ horses all crowded and piling on to each other. Know one knew where we were going. At one point a guy on a horse just disappeared up a hill as his horse just ran off! The guides were far from a guide with no directions or supervision. The saddles were made of wood and extremely uncomfortable and I ride 5 days a week, let alone someone who is not used to riding that long in a saddle would be even more uncomfortable. Many didn’t wear helmets-too each your own but I would recommend a helmet if you care at all about safety! After about 45 min ride through the rocky, slippery terrain (the horses were great at maneuvering through the rocks and river I might add.) We come to a narrow area next to the river where the horses are not tied up and we are all asked to get off and hike up a steep, rocky hill. “Watch out because a horse or mule may kick you!” One guide yelled! If you’re not in shape I do not recommend doing this! After a very steep incline and downcline of slippery rocks and unstable steps we come to a beautiful waterfall. Not one person informed us we would be hiking to a waterfall. It was great to see the beautiful waterfall, but some heads up would have been nice as many people didn’t have bathing suits on and just started de-robing in their underwear. I saw about 5 old men and women in their underwear! Not exactly my kind of scene. Then we hiked back to the crowd of horses. Some fighting and climbing up the hill. It was so dangerous! They asked us to tell them our horses name. I don’t know my horses name! Maybe that would have been good information to know prior to the trail? We somehow all made it back to the ranch safely. Then a group sits down to eat lunch but they tell us no lunch we are zip lining. It is now 1pm at this point. My family is starving! Still no information given to us as what was next on the agenda. We head over to the zip lines. The platforms 100’s of feet in the air were made of rotting wood and metal. Most of the wood had been destroyed by termites, broken warped pieces, this was so unsafe! My family told me to lighten up. I understand but this is so unsafe. Finally, made it to lunch by 2pm! Needless to say we were starving! This entire experience lasted 6 hours! We piled back into the van and headed back to Starbucks! 3 stars for surviving. At the end the driver must have asked us for money about 6 times. “Don’t you want to tip me? You must be rich so give me another $20” were just a few of the comments out of his mouth. My family is not rich. We are very giving people but don’t ask me for more money when you didn’t do anything special to deserve it. Sorry that was a big turn off!
