First tour with them, but definitely not my last! - Tacos 101 was my first and definitely not my last food tour. Memo has been doing this for a very long time and it shows! He knew all the best places to take us and really provided a wonderful variety of the tacos that Puerta Vallarta offers. He was professional, funny, interesting and extremely knowledgable not only about his adopted city but the restaurants and food carts we went to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The absolute best! - Memo is the most gracious, generous, warm and knowledgeable tour guide I’ve ever experienced. My partner and I were the only ones who signed up for his afternoon tour, and he gave us his all. He was so hospitable and his love for his city and its food was contagious. Unforgettable and sooooo delicious.

Amazing tacos…great tour!! - Memo was a great tour guide…leading us through the streets of Puerto Vallarta to some amazing taco stands!! Memo was so informative and explained in great detail about the history of each stand and their specialty taco, which we were able to try. Go hungry…the tacos were amazing, and there’s plenty to eat!! It was nice to finish at a restaurant where we were able to get a refreshing beer with our taco. Highly recommend!!

Great experience! - We did two tours with Memo and had a fantastic time on both! Taco 101 and the welcome walk and talk. Highly recommend Memo and Vallarta 101 to get you oriented in the city and find some amazing places to eat. He knows the area and will adjust your tour to accommodate your groups speed and desires. A real pleasure to have him show us around.

Discover great tacos - We had a fantastic tour with Memo. Definitely went places we wouldn’t have tried on our own and now feel confident to go back on our own. Memo was exactly the right amount of friendly and informative. Go early in your trip so you can go back!

Must-do! - The Taco101 tour with Memo was an amazing, informative, and delicious experience that we would recommend to anyone planning a visit to Puerto Vallarta. All the food and drinks are included, with freedom for seconds and thirds, if one serving isn’t enough. (But pace yourself to save room for all the stops along the tour!) At each location, Memo explained the highlighted dish, offered his recommendations, placed the order, paid for the meal, and tipped for the service—allowing us to enjoy the meal without worrying about price or whether we’d be tipping enough. (As American citizens, we think in USD and not MXN pesos). While we could have ordered any taco we wanted, as the tour guide, Memo knew the “best” item on the menu and based his recommendations off of the locations we would be visiting so we’d get a variety of tacos that touched on each staple of the area. This made the process super easy, as we didn’t have to spend any time looking over the menus and were never disappointed with his recommendations. **Booking considerations: Memo said he typically caps the tour sizes to 6-8 people to ensure it feels like a small, intimate experience. We booked this tour during the offseason. For those who are unaware, offseason lasts from June through mid October due to heat, humidity, and rain. Because of this, my husband and I were the only guests on the tour. While some might view this as a negative, we thought it enhanced the experience, giving us a private tour that was more personal and tailored to us. Two of the stops were air conditioned restaurants with indoor seating, a welcomed chance to cool off. The other two taco stands were outdoors. From one traveler to another, you have to go to the outdoor stands..Despite the heat and humidity, going in the off-season to increase the likelihood of a “private” tour was completely worth it. Just note to wear light, breathable clothes and be prepared to sweat if there’s no breeze. This tour is a must—so if climate is of concern, don’t forego the tour, just plan to visit during the cooler months instead. ** Dietary considerations: I am gluten intolerant. At the beginning of the tour while chatting with Memo, I disclosed my gluten allergy. Like magic, Memo immediately re-structured the tour locations, eliminating one taco stand due to their flour tortillas and substituted it with another stand he knew was 100% corn. For someone who has to constantly check and recheck with service staff at restaurants for gluten content, it was nice to have that concern removed and trust Memo’s guidance for a completely gluten-free experience. We 100% recommend this taco tour with Vallarta101 and look forward to experiencing the other tours they offer on future Puerto Vallarta trips.

Unforgettable experience! - We have been to taco tours in other areas of Mexico, but Vallarta 101 by far was the best. Memo was our giude who was very knowledgeable and passionate about the culture, the community he lives in, and the food! We learned so much and had some of the best tacos! And this is just the day time tacos, there are night time tacos, sea food tacos, veggies tacos that we will have to come back for Memos other classes, working towards a diploma! This is a must if you are in PV and want real food!! It's definitely the highlight of our family trip this year!

It is a must do! - Memo is a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to places we would have never found on our own and the tacos were outstanding! We also ventured into areas we never would have gone as tourists and we got to discover authentic Mexico. Worth every penny!

Great tacos and an amazing guide!! - Memo was an amazing guide. He spoke great english and was very knowledgeable about the city! It wasn’t just about the tacos. As for the tacos they all were amazing! We went to 4 different taco stands off the beaten path away from all the main tourist area. I would highly recommend tour! So good!
