Well worth the money - We absolutely loved our experience!! We saw so many whales- mamas and their babies, males scrapping over the female, lots of breaching whales.
Breakfast & lunch were offered- we had breakfast but couldn’t tear ourselves away for lunch- we didn’t want to miss a thing!
The service was excellent, didnt even have to get up for beverages. (The pina coladas were great!) The whole crew on board was beyond fantastic.
We learned so much about whales- which was especially great for the kids, they’ll have so many fun facts to share now.
10/10

Fabulous tour and Cruisers can do it too!! - Wow! Excellent experience in Puerto Vallarta and I would highly recommend! We came into port on the Discovery Princess Cruise Ship and the tour was at the same port as the ship. Took only 30 minutes between getting off one ship, getting checked in for the tour, and getting loaded onto the tour boat. Tour was fabulous and we saw whales within the first 10 minutes. Tour lasted about 5.5 hours as we moved from one batch of Humpbacks to another around the bay. Tour guide was great keeping things entertaining and was very knowledgeable about the whales and their different behaviors. Open bar was fun and staff was very attentive. Food was all hand made on board and was fabulous for the limited space and being on a small vessel. Traveled with my husband and infant and had a wonderful time!
In response to someone who does not recommend this tour if you are cruising in to Puerto Vallarta, please just ask your ship if they make changes to local time or not. We were concerned about this as our ship was scheduled to dock at 8:00am and the tour started at 9:30 with a meeting time of 9:00am. We asked the cruise as soon as we boarded what their policy was on time zones and our ship did make the change to local time as we traveled the Mexican Riviera. If the timing would not have worked we could have received a full refund if canceled before 24 hours out. Please just be willing to ask the extra questions so you can enjoy this tour if you are coming in from a cruise.

So Many Whales in the Bay - What an amazing cruise. Saw so many whales. Captain was very careful not to disturb the mother and baby humpbacks we saw. Cruise guide was very informative, the food was good and the bar was open. Photographers captured some excellent pics of the whales so you can put the phone down and enjoy the cruise. Will do this trip again next time I am in PV.

Great experience with a few suggested areas for improvement - My wife and I very much enjoyed our whale watching tour earlier this month and would definitely recommend it. The boat crew works hard to make sure you enjoy the trip and they find whales very quickly. Mind you, in all fairness, it doesn't appear to be that difficult. There are many whale-watching boats in the bay and they're all looking for the same thing. When one boat finds whales, all the boats quickly converge on the same area. That said, they do a good job of making sure guests get a great view and yet, are mindful of the need to stay a safe distance from the whales. Lots of great memories, exactly as promised. We really enjoyed our tour. Two pieces of constructive criticism. As other reviews have noted, the boats load first at the Nuevo dock and by the time they hit the PV dock, most of the best seats are taken. I'm sure the company needs people at both docks to fill the boat, but you need to fix this because it's not fair to the people at the PV dock who pay the same. The other criticism relates to the front of the boat, where some guests hog the railing for the entire tour. These are the best seats from which to see whales. The "host" on the microphone can (and does) make an announcement or two that these folks should step away and let others have time at the rail, but they do nothing to enforce it. As a result, the dozen of so people at the bow get a front row seat for the whole tour. They need to go right up and ask people to move so that others can have a turn at the rail. Not easy, for sure, but it's only fair to the other people on the boat.

Whale watching tour - We had a good whale sightseeing tour, however we boarded in Puerto Vallarta and the boats seats were mostly taken up by the group that had boarded first in a different location. We almost didn’t get a seat. The best seats were taken and I could not get a good view of the whales.
Other than that, the crew were awesome!

Total scam - Our boat was slightly delayed clearing the gangway (25 minutes). We contacted Mikes Fishing and told them, they said when you get off head right to the pier, which we did and they were GONE. they are denying us a refund because it wasn’t their fault. (Wasn’t my fault either). Wouldn’t use Viator or Mike’s fishing ever again. Save $20, but lost $200. Total ripoff. I can understand I didn’t make the boat, but to not offer my money back or a future credit makes the nickels worth of savings not worth it. Lesson learned.
