- Lago Llanquihue - Our journey begins in Puerto Varas, known as “The City of Roses,” and takes us along the shores of Llanquihue Lake towards Osorno Volcano. We’ll marvel at the stunning scenery featuring the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes until we reach Ensenada, where we start our ascent to the Osorno Ski Mountain center, situated at an altitude of 1,240 meters.
- Volcan Osorno - We will spend about an hour here, providing ample time for sightseeing, photography, and admiring the unique view of the volcano’s summit with its eternal snow glaciers, the Calbuco volcano, Llanquihue Lake, and the Pacific Ocean. Guests have the option to enjoy a cup of coffee or a sandwich at the local café or take the lift to ascend to 1,450 meters at Primavera Station (Spring) or 1,750 meters at Glaciar Station (Glacier), where breathtaking views of Llanquihue Lake await.
- Saltos del Petrohue - By paying an entrance fee to the National Park, we can visit one of the country’s most beautiful spots, the “Petrohué River Falls.” Here, the river cascades over massive, centuries-old crystallized lava formations, creating a stunning display of light and stone. This is a sight you won’t want to miss.
- Lago Todos Los Santos - From there, we continue for about 5 km along the slopes of Osorno Volcano and the Petrohue River to Todos Los Santos Lake. Here, you can take photos or board a vessel for a 40-minute sail across Todos Los Santos Lake, also known as Esmeralda. The journey is surrounded by evergreen forests, mountains, and the majestic volcanoes, creating a simply spectacular natural setting.

Wonderful guide and curation of places - Jenny was a wonderful guide and super friendly! Recommend for sure. The volcano was certainly the highlight. Be careful along the trails. Can be easy to get lost since they are not labeled.

The weather cleared &... - The weather cleared & Osorno Volcano was clear to the top. We enjoyed the hike through the National Park in the morning while it was still heavy clouds. Our tour guide, Penny was wise in making the decisions to visit the sights in the order she chose. She met us on the trail & walked with us part of the time. She enjoys people & is very cordial. Our lunch was delicious at a restaurant on the lake. The grilling meat smelled wonderful as we drove into the parking lot. It’s always helpful when the guide chooses a restaurant. By now the Sun was out full to go to Osorno! We had plenty of time from the drive up to the ski center lift & on up to the glacier if we chose.
The tour was full with 16people. The guide spoke well in both English & Spanish & took the time to be sure we all heard the information she gave us!
We were both picked up & dropped back at our hotel which was convenient!

Long day on an uncomfortable bus.. - The positive thing about this trip was our tour guide who spoke very good English and made sure that we understood his commentary.
The negatives were as follows:
1. The bus was completely full, too small and exceptionally uncomfortable.
2. if you were fortunate enough to be picked up first, you could get one of the more comfortable seats. But those of us that got picked up last got stuck at the back of the bus in the most uncomfortable seats imaginable. My wife and I were crammed in a bench seat that was best suited For three people not four.
If I had had the opportunity, I would’ve gotten off the bus and tried to get my money back. Naturally, the people that had the more comfortable seats were unwilling to give theirs up all day long.
3. The stop at the Falls was pleasant and we enjoyed the hikes and the waterfalls.
4. The trip to the top of the volcano was on eventful, but with all the switchbacks, braking and accelerating. It was really uncomfortable in the van..
5. Our tour guide was unable to keep One family on time and they consistently held up the group at every stop including lunch.
6. The lunch was overpriced and really not very good. Several people complained about the poor quality of the food.
7. None of the stops and attractions on the tour are included in the price. The entire cost of the trip is for the bus ride. This is explained several times by the tour guide, but needs to be reiterated.
All in all, you could do everything on this tour yourself if you had a Rent-A-Car or other transportation. That would also free you up to have a lunch somewhere else or a picnic if you bring your own food.

Poor decision-making by the guide spoiled trip - We have been in Puerto Varas for 5 days. The only time Osorno volcano was not obscured by clouds was the night before and the morning of this trip. The guide said that we were lucky as it had been cloudy and raining for over a week. But instead of seizing the opportunity and going to the volcano straight away, he took us to Petrohue first, then wasted another hour while he & the others went on an 'extra' boat trip on Lago Todas Los Santos, which was not even on the itinerary. (My husband and i did not go on this as we had booked a trip which included this a couple of days later. Only then, at nearly midday, did we go to Osorno & as we made our way there, it became covered in heavy cloud, so there were no beautiful views and the experience was a great disappointment.
I fully understand that good weather and great views can not be guaranteed....but he had a great opportunity to give us that....and he missed it. Osorno was the main headline of the trip....it was first on the list to be visited on the itinerary i looked at when i booked the trip.
He made a poor decision and spoiled the day.

I had huge difficulties contacting... -
I had huge difficulties contacting the local tour to get information on pickup. Though I emailed viator also they did not give me direct access to them until very late in the process. In short we missed our tour even though we continued to try to contact them up to the morning when we landed in Puerto Varas. Very disappointed!
