Additional Information
We will leave Puerto Viejo at 7:45 am, then drive for like 30 minutes, arrive at the Bribri Indigenous reserve, where we’ll join an Indigenous family, learn about their culture and a variety of medicinal plants. Participants will then have the opportunity to learn about the history of the cacao tree, taste the fruit, make puréed chocolate. After the chocolate tour, we will visit a refreshing waterfall in the mountains of Talamanca. Participants will have the opportunity to swim in the large pool under the falls. After that, we will return to Puerto Viejo. A fruit will be included in this tour. For the pick up, if you are staying in or around Puerto Viejo, Cocles or Punta Uva, just send a message with the name of your hotel, and we will pick you up there.

Lovely and fun adventure - Great informative tour. Braulio picked us up on time, he was super knowledgeable and created a fun and hands on tour. The swim at the waterfall was a great ending to a fantastic tour. Pack bug spray and water and enjoy the experience.

Fantastic and Beautiful Experience - What an amazing experience, visiting the indigenous tribe of the BriBri. Braulio was a magnificent guide and did a wonderful job of interpreting the special people of BriBri. The hike to the waterfall was a wonderful way to cap off the day. I highly recommend this experience.

BRIBRI is a once in lifetime experience - Braulio was a wonderful guide.
He gives great history about the area and it's people. He was able to identify the botanical and give us information about its use. We were lucky and had a wonderful rain free day. After the tour he was kind enough to take us to a wonderful place for lunch and then a quick stop at the beach.

Great tour! - Braulio was an excellent and attentive guide! He knows so much about the Bribri, plants and making chocolate since he's a part of the Bribri and since he has his own farm! We also tried his own made chicha drink, amazing. We had lunch at the Bribri: chicken, rice and pumpkin, delicious. We would recommend!

Best value for money tour. - Amazing tour, great value. Includes education on BriBri culture and history, medicinal plants, chocolate making and a waterfall. Plus we got a homemade delicious lunch our kids loved. One of our favorite tours from 5 weeks in Costa Rica. Don’t wait, if Braulio is available book it now you won’t regret it!!

Great family tour - We were met by the tour guide, and during the short drive, he gave us a wonderful foundation of the area, the tribes, and the history. We sampled numerous plants, fruits, etc., that grow locally during our visit. We then had a chance to make some chocolate and headed to the waterfall. It's as much a tour of local fruits and the like as much as a chocolate exploration - which was better, in my opinion. We loved it -the kids loved it, and the waterfall was a perfect ending.

Don’t miss this great tour when visiting Puerto Viejo! - Interesting tour that was fun and educational for the whole family. Even my teens loved it! We got to learn about a different culture, have a wonderful fresh lunch and swim in an awesome local waterfall. It was a very complete tour and a great way to spend the day!

Like a generic chocolate tour but with culture - We did a normal touristy chocolate tour AND this one. This one was much better. Although it did not discuss the way chocolate is made today, we had the pleasure of learning about the Bribri's people's relationship with both chocolate and many other plants. Also, the actual chocolate tasting was better because we got to try the chocolate in a banana and as hot chocolate.

Cacao pleasure - This was one of the highlights of my trip to Costa Rica. We learned so much about the Bribri culture. We took a walk through the area and learned about medicinal plants and cacao. We saw the whole process of picking the cacao fruit to making chocolate. Very informative and fun. Ending our excursion at a waterfall was so refreshing.

not much excitement.. - it was an average trip i don’t think worth it the money .. waterfall with a fruit snack was better as the first part of the trip where i would love to hear more about the cocoa plantation.. or about the bribri culture.
