DO THIS BY YOURSELF - Take a taxi, get dropped off, for $3 - This is a active turtle sanctuary with plenty turtles in different stages of growing. There is also a walk that takes you through interesting path and some ponds with some flamingos, I saw 1 at one pond, 2 at another, 1 at another pond. This is not going to satisfy those expecting to see tons of flamingos, which is a stunning site I didn't get to see. You can see free GIGANTIC TURTLES at the ranch in Santa Cruz, just take a city bus, or taxi, get dropped off, walk the long, lovely entrance with egrets, gigantic tortoises and cows all grazing along this beautiful path. The ranch is also very lovely with a huge deck, free coffee (donation), can buy water, etc. and nice toilets. The entry fee is so minimal I can't recall, maybe $5. You can spend all the time you want with 40-50 giant tortoise, some over 100 years old. Also on property is tunnels, but they are not a real attraction, but interesting for 5 minutes. TRY TO AVOID PAYING FOR TOURS BECAUSE SO AMERICA IS NOTORIOUS FOR CUTTING DAY TOURS SHORT AND IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING. I enjoyed on Isabelle the Tortuise Sanctuary and the walk. The problem was I had a taxi waiting to take me on a "day tour" for $10, which consisted of that drop off and pick up, and dropping me at the port, completely not needed. Could have paid separate taxi to get to both places for not over $3. There is free snorkling near the port! Rent gear, take your time! MUST SEE is the other area near the port with all the sealions, one named Donald Trump because he spent hours honkning at all the nice sleeping sealions just to make their lives miserable. I will post that documentary on my public pages, look for Toruga Trump MENTAL CASE IN SHELL!
