A strong recommendation - We were extremely satisfied with this excursion. The food as well as the wines were excellent in all 3 restaurants. And our tour guide, Maja, gave us interesting introduction both to Pula and its history and to Istrian food traditions.

Istrian Cuisine with the Pula's Amphitheatre as a Backdrop - We did this small-group tour as a day trip from Rovinj, not only to highlight authentic Istrian cuisine but to see Pula's sights, including the amazing Arena. Maja, our wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide combined both in a great day's tour. Stopping at several restaurants and eateries, we were able to sample the abundant, various dishes, so much so, I remember not being able to finish the dessert at the final point (a travesty, I know). There were lovely pairings of wine at each place, and we ended buying the recommended organically produced sparkling moscato at the final bar (it did not last long, btw :)) I very much recommend this tour, to get a glimpse into the cuisine and sights of Pula. You'll have a great time, I am sure.

Great combination of food tasting and sightseeing - Great tour! Good combination of sightseeing and food experience! People from the agency were very helpful and our guide Maja was fantastic! Apart from the main sightseeing attractions(Pula IS quite interesting due to its past!), we visited three restaurants of which the first two offered us a starter and main dish (we got quite full at the end) and the last was offered more of a wine+cheese tasting occasion accompanied with dessert. Why not five stars? Unfortunately it was veeery hot on that day (we had to move indoors with AC instead of cosy street terrace) and some key persons were absent(due to pregnancy etc). Providing a complete but balanced overall food experience in many places in a row is not easy but Istria Gourmet Food Tours did a fairy good job here. I highly recommend anyone visiting Pula to join the tour!
