Highlights
  • Vaishali Restaurant - The culinary journey kicks off with Sabudana Vada, renowned as the finest in Pune. This traditional deep-fried snack from Maharashtra is a festival favorite, especially during fasting periods. It’s a delightfully crunchy treat that melts in your mouth.

  • Pune City Post Office - Our next stop is a well-known eatery famous for serving Pune’s best Misal Pav. Misal is a flavorful curry made from moth beans, spices, onion, garlic, ginger, and chilies. Enjoy this dish topped with boiled potatoes, chiwda, sev, chopped onions, coriander, green chilies, and a squeeze of lemon.

  • Kayani Bakery - We then visit Pune’s most famous bakery to sample the iconic Shrewsbury biscuits. Named after a town in Shropshire, England, these biscuits are buttery and melt in your mouth.

  • Deccan Gymkhana Club - Next, we head to the top spot for Bakarwadis. This beloved evening snack in Pune is made from gram flour dough rolled into spirals and filled with a mixture of coconut, poppy seeds, and sesame seeds.

  • Garden Vadapav Center - We conclude our food trail with the best Vada Pav in Pune at Garden Vada Pav. Although this is Maharashtra’s most popular snack, both the potato and pav (bread) are actually imports from Portugal!
