Uros – Amantani

Uros Floating Islands - The tour begins at 7:45 am with a transfer from your hotel to the port.

We then board a boat to the floating islands of Uros (approximately 25 minutes).

Upon arrival, we are greeted by the inhabitants, followed by a comprehensive explanation from our guide about the people, customs, and unique features of this fascinating place.

We visit 2 of the 80 islands and have the option to take a short ride (around 15 minutes) in traditional reed boats.

Amantani Island - After a 3-hour boat ride, we reach Amantani Island. Upon disembarking, the group is divided into smaller groups to stay in rural houses with various Taquileña families.

A typical lunch is served with the host families.

At sunset, we hike to the highest point of the island, known as “Pacha Tata,” to watch the sunset. Our guide will provide a brief overview of the island’s main features and peculiarities.

After dinner, the host family dresses us in traditional costumes and takes us to the community room or peña for a small celebration.

We then return to spend the night in the designated rural houses.

Second Day

Amantani Island - After breakfast at a rural house, we start our tour at 8:00 am.

We head towards Taquile Island, arriving after about an hour of navigation. Upon disembarking, we take a gradually ascending walk to the main square of the island (approximately 45 minutes of walking) to visit the communal cooperative where their textiles are displayed.

Taquile Island - Our guide will explain the lifestyle of the inhabitants and their renowned textile industry, which UNESCO has declared an “intangible cultural heritage of humanity.”

Next, we have lunch at one of the local restaurants (not included).

After lunch, we descend a route of 500 steps to the main port (optional route).

At around 1:00 pm, we embark on a 3-hour boat ride back to Puno.

Return to Puno and end of services.
