Highlights

Uros Floating Islands - We will be picking you up from your hotel within the historic centre of Puno between 0745 and 0800 in the morning.
Before boarding the motor boat to Uros Island we will have a brief stop at the boat pier where you can buy some snacks and bottled water.
Once onboard the boat, a local musician would welcome you with an Andean Folkloric music. Our guide would then introduce himself and the captain of the boat before giving you a brief about the day’s itinerary on the World’s highest navigable lake, Lake Titicaca.
Our first stop will be at the iconic floating islands of Uros. During the journey from the mainland to one of the Uros Islands, you can see totora plants that grow on Lake Titicaca. These constitute the basic source of food and, at the same time, they serve as a maintenance system that the Uros have to perpetuate the existence of the islands As the boat would dock in, local women dressed in the local attire would extend a warm welcome to the place they call home. The head of the island would then demonstrate how they build these islands using totora plants and would share a few words in their native language (Aymara).
Natives here are known for their handicrafts, so you may buy some if you would wish to. You will then have an option of sailing on the traditional totora reed boat (10 Soles) to the main island of Uros. If desired, you can get your passport stamped here as a souvenir.
From here, we will start our boat ride to Amantani islands. You may walk up to the open deck on the upper level of the boat and get some photos of the floating islands that you would be passing through.

Fantastic Experience - My boyfriend and I came on this trip and we absolutely loved it. A lot of people travelling Peru skip Puno - don't skip it and definitely don't miss out on this tour! This was one of our highlights of our trip so far. Our tour guide was Carlos who was brilliant - friendly, informative and professional. We were picked up from our hotel promptly and our boat ride was very pleasant. We made three stops on different islands. All were so interesting. We loved the floating islands and learning about life on them. Then our homestay on another island was excellent, we were made to feel so welcome by the host families and had some great experiences like local dancing in traditional attire and a walk to see the sunset. On the second day, we visited a third beautiful island and had lunch with a view. There were very few extra costs with this tour - just souvenir buying, tips (non obligatory but we felt everyone deserved them!) and a well priced lunch on the second day. So much is included on the tour. Would recommend to everyone. Thanks to Carlos and all the host families of the different islands for a fantastic experience.

Best way to explore Titicaca - My tour to Lake Titicaca was one of the best experiences I had in Peru. The organization was smooth, and our group was amazing. The homestay with the locals was outstanding; they were incredibly warm and friendly, making us feel right at home. A special shoutout to our guide, Ruben, for the passion and love he puts into his job. He created a truly unique experience for all of us. His dedication and enthusiasm made the trip even more memorable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Peru!

Highly recommend! - The guide, Carlos, is very attentive and well organized. We felt welcomed and safe. The couple who received us on the island, Necacio and Reina, were very kind and their house was very clean. We had a bit of altitude sickness so remember to take tablets. I highly recommend!

A trip of a lifetime - I took this two day Lake Titicaca tour after a friend recommended this tour and the company to me. It was a perfectly planned and well organized tour. The tour company was very easy to reach and helped me a lot in planning the trip. The pickup was ontime and the guide was very knowledgable. The boat was spotless with a toilet inside. Everything was simply perfect. Hihgly recommend them.

Beautifully Gorgeous - Going in I expected something a bit different but in the end I had a wonderful time. Pack light, I did not I had a suitcase. There is walking and hiking in which I love but really no where to store things so you have to take them from point A to point B to Point C etc. Weather changes from hot, to cold, to rain. So prepare the proper clothing for those circumferences also bring Soles with you since everything is cash only and you're going to want to buy beautiful artisanal artifacts on the islands and if you want any additional food or drinks as well. There's also very limited charging for phones and no wifi and limited cell service. It's a great way to disconnect. Overall it's beautiful you learn a lot about agricultural, Incan tribes and traditions and you hike about 26 km in one day to the temples which is pretty awesome. Also prepare for altitude sickness so drink the tea and chew on the cocoa leaves.

Great tour - Beautiful tour with a good guide (Carlos?). Definitely worth spending the night on the lake so you get to see more. We climbed to the top of Amantani for sunset at Pachamama temple and I did it again for sunrise to see the other Pachatata temple. The only thing that differed from expectations is that I had to share a room and we were told we'd have private bedrooms. Be warned you may not have running water/shower/flushing toilet at the homestead. Lunch on the second day should be included in this tour for the price.

A Nice Trip - This is one of the more unique tours my family and I have done. It was really cool to get to experience the culture in this region. Some have said that it's kind of a tourist trap so you buy things is a bit true, but that was just a tiny piece of that. Visiting the floating islands was crazy (the boat tour basically slowly takes you off the island like 20 feet and back and can be skipped - although they basically shuttle you right on it). We appreciated the demonstration on life and building the islands and my girls loved the puppy that lived there. I can't speak for anyone else, but our accommodations were very nice actually. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but my husband and I had a separate room from our kids and we had our own bathroom for our family. The view was amazing and our hostess and her family were great. We had a nice time at the party - great band, people were having fun dancing, great view of the stars outside. We didn't stay the whole time as the kids were tired, but we were happy we went. It was cool to wear the traditional outfits as well. The final island was okay. There really was no focus on weaving, although there was a store in the square. My family and I didn't eat the lunch as ours wasn't included and just grabbed some sandwiches in the square. We did enjoy the presentation in the restaurant explaining what some of the clothing details meant and other parts of daily life. Overall, we're glad we went. There were two guides - both informative (one a little gruff), and helpful.

Amazing homestay experience and well worth doing despite the numerous sales pitches during the rest of the tour - This trip was amazing as a result of the homestay experience on Amantani island. The hospitality, the views and the traditional dancing were all unforgettable. Unfortunately, the less enjoyable part of the tour was being frequently sold to in what felt to be quite a transactional way. We all understand that communities benefit from tourist investments, but there are ways to manage this so, as a tourist, you don't feel that your tour guide's hand is constantly in your pocket. Do the tour - the homestay is phenomenal - but hopefully the operators will take the feedback on board. We'd happily have paid extra with monies being distributed to locals rather than endure the sales pitches.

Not bad. - Scripted tour of the Uros Islands and therefore not authentic (tourist catch) Visit Amantani Island and walk to the interesting pachamama with a great view of the lake The host family for the night on the island was very welcoming and the meals were good. Visit of the island of tease, not especially useful because brought in a touristic way.
