• Uros Floating Islands - The Uros Floating Islands are a collection of man-made, inhabitable platforms constructed from reeds, a water plant that thrives on Lake Titicaca’s surface. These islands rest on a section of Lake Titicaca, layered over blocks of reed roots, with successive layers of reeds woven or intertwined into mats. The Uros, an ancient people, currently reside on the Collao plateau and in Peru on the floating islands situated in Puno Bay.
• Taquile Island - Taquile Island (Intika in Quechua), located in Lake Titicaca, is part of the Amantaní district in Puno, Peru. Positioned 45 km from Puno, the regional capital, the island is home to approximately 2,200 residents. The main town is situated at an elevation of 3,950 meters above sea level, with the island’s highest point reaching 4,050 meters. The island is within the Quechua language domain, and its residents are known as Taquileños.
