Excellent tour with Atma and Hernando - Guide Atma Salobreña and driver Hernando de Magallanes were really excellent. They kept us safe and interested. We saw the king penguins rather close. They made amazing sounds similar to trumpet swans. We also met a lot of guanacos on our way ,not to mention geese, ducks, fox and amazing Laguna with bacteria and salt. I highly recommend this tour especially with this great team.

Penguins, wildlife, and history! - We had an incredible day. Although the journey to get to the king penguin colony is long, our guide Daniel made it feel short. We made a few stops along the way, at Cerro Sombrero and Estancia San Gregorio, and Daniel provided in depth information about the social history of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. We had an incredible hour with the king penguins, and also had opportunities to learn about and photograph guanacos, rheas, and even an Andean condor!

Great experience - Our Guide was really nice and told us during the trip a lot about the history of Tierra del Fuego, the people living there and their way of life. And of course, the penguins are one of the cutest things to see. It was a really great experience!

The Pinguino Rey Reserve is a Must See! - Wonderful trek to see the Pinguino Rey Reserve on the Isla Tierra del Fuego! Our guide was terrific in explaining so much of the region’s history, and he even shared his personal history on our in Cerros Sombrero. The guide at the Reserve was a biologist who did an excellent job of describing the behavior of the King Penguins. It was, obvious, of his passion for working to protect these special penguins! Long day but worth the trip!

Great trip, but with some logistics constraints due to the fact that several groups should not arrive at the same time. - Problems with the reservation site. I got a reservation with a planned pick-up at 5 am in front of a hotel in town, while the reality was that the pick-up would take place after 7:15 at my location. The problem could be solved the night before thanks through contacts with the guide, Atma!

So much travel time...not sure it was worth it - We spent about 6 hours getting to the penguin colony via shuttle bus and ferry and 6 hours returning to Punta Arenas. We spent about 45 minutes at the Penguin Colony. It was a really long day. The penguins were super cool and it it was great to see them. however the travel time to get there was pretty long. Maybe if the guide would have interacted more with us, or had more of a presentation it would have helped to pass the travel time better.
