- Punta Cana - After picking up customers from their hotels in Punta Cana, we’ll head to a meeting point where you can use the restroom, grab a coffee, or simply relax. Our guide will greet everyone, and once we’re ready, we’ll board the bus to begin our adventure.
Our first stop will be the stunning “Cueva de la Maravillas,” one of the most beautiful caves in the Dominican Republic. Located in the San Pedro region, it’s about an hour and a half bus ride from Punta Cana. During the journey, our guide will share insights into the history, culture, and daily life in the Dominican Republic and will be happy to answer any questions. We’ll pass by vast sugar cane plantations and enjoy views of the local flora and fauna from the bus windows.
- Cueva de las Maravillas - Upon arrival at our first destination, we’ll explore two attractions: the cave itself and the new iguanarium.
Inside the cave, you’ll be captivated by the stunning stalactites and stalagmites, as well as ancient paintings left by the Taino civilization centuries ago. The impressive geological formations, reaching 25 meters underground, feature over 500 pictographs of significant aesthetic and archaeological value.
The iguanarium is a sanctuary for the endangered Cyclura cornuta iguanas in the Dominican Republic. Currently, more than 400 iguanas are on display, with some roaming freely throughout the park.
- La Romana - After visiting the Cueva de las Maravillas, we’ll head to the La Romana region to visit our next main destination: the charming village of Altos de Chavon. Before arriving, we’ll make a stop near La Romana city at a souvenir shop to sample the famous Dominican Spirit Mamajuana and perhaps purchase some local products to take home.
- Altos de Chavon - Once ready, we’ll proceed to the renowned Casa de Campo resort to reach the picturesque village of Altos de Chavon. Here, you’ll enjoy lunch at a typical Dominican restaurant with a stunning view of the Chavon River. The menu is a-la-carte, offering a choice of 5 different starters and 5 main courses (including rice and beans, pasta, fish fillet), plus a dessert of the day.
After lunch, we’ll spend the afternoon exploring Altos de Chavon. We’ll stroll through its narrow, medieval-style streets and have time to visit an art gallery, a small museum about Dominican history, the quaint church where Michael Jackson got married, and the famous amphitheater, which has hosted concerts by stars like Frank Sinatra, Carlos Santana, and Ricky Martin.
- La Romana - Our final stop will be at a chocolate factory where we’ll learn about the entire chocolate-making process, from cacao beans to the finished product, and sample various chocolate products (we recommend the chocolate tea!).
- Punta Cana - Afterward, we’ll board the bus one last time to return to Punta Cana. Upon arrival, we’ll drop off customers at their hotels, a process that can take from 10 minutes to an hour depending on the hotel’s location.
