Fun local experience! - We came from New York for a wedding and decided to do this excursion. 100% worth the price. Besides being fun it was educational and interesting. We got to see how the locals really live. Got to see some of their houses, schools, and farms all while riding ATVs. The local children would come outside and wave. The cave was beautiful and refreshing. We enjoyed a free cigar at the tobacco and coffee plantation. Our tour guide "the cat" was very friendly and a lot of fun. He was very knowledgeabl as well. We felt very safe. It was nice to get off the resort and see how people on the island live. I would 100% recommend. Wear clothes you dont mind getting dirty or muddy.

El gato loco is the best... - El gato loco is the best guide ever! I highly recommend this tour. Beautiful sights, great coffee and hot chocolate. Some of the vendors tend to haggle but that is every where when it comes to popular tourist attractions.

Atv tour - This was a pretty fun excursion, also stopped at the Macao beach which was gorgeous. Coffee chocolate tour part was kinda rushed and not great. And the water cave was super crowded but a cool spot and people being very pushy to try and sell things but the tour guides warned us prior about that to help.

Something different to do - Kitson and his crew did an incredible job guiding us. My only questionable experience was the stop where we were supposed to be “taught” how to make coffee and chocolate it was more for selling and the sellers can get very pushy and overwhelming. We did end up buying from them and regretted it later bc the price gouging was insane. Mind you the shop I’m talking about is the place where the tour company said it was safe to buy at bc they would give us fair pricing. So I would recommend going on the tour but recommend not buying anything from any of the sources you encounter.

Viator Reservation Went Well - VIATOR RESERVERS: I reserved this booking a month in advance through Victor and was extremely skeptical about everything including “pick-up point,” tour guide, prices, etc. I had to email them and text them through WhatsApp (both numbers) to get a response. I didn’t even get one up until the 6th text confirming the “pick-up point,” which was BRIEFLY detailed through the Viator app. Thankfully “Karina the appointment reservation clerk” responded the day before with confirmations and actually had a vehicle/driver come pick us up with no extra charge. From there, everything went well and our tour guide “KITSON” was phenomenal. Ask for him. P.S: there are MANY locals and vendors HIKING up prices to sell things or ask for money… ignore them.

Misleading photos - The tour guides were great. However, the cover photo for this experience is not accurate to the locations. There’s no scenic hills to ride through, the tour consists of riding down dirt roads in the city with a little mud. Coffee and cocoa “tasting” is a tent set up to sell you products. The cenote is a small cave that offers a nice photo opportunity, but not much more.

Rushed and just not fun - The most memorable was the coffee and cocoa tasting other than that it just wasn't fun. It was rushed from the beginning. Poor sanitization . Safety wasn't prioritized.

Disappointing, but it could’ve been great. - The most memorable experience of this is being ripped off. They charge $20 for goggles seven dollars for a bandanna as soon as we got there. The beggars were horrendous everywhere we went. The description was not clear about what was going to happen, it was very misleading. The cave was one little jump and the coffee and chocolate tasting were a sip. All they wanted to do was sell things to you. The magnets were $15, crazy. But the most upsetting part was the pictures they tried to sell us. I have traveled all over the world and I purchased pictures when I go on excursions but no one has ever tried to charge me $120 for four pictures . I’m sad about this, because the pictures were great.

Rip off - First of all pick up at the hotel have been very late , then upon arrival the guide asked us an extra 50 dollars we couldn’t argue . He said he had received the reservation for 2 although we paid for 3 and he didn’t want to hear anything . As the group was waiting, we paid that extra money , which was very upsetting. Quad was fun though , and shop was very expensive. Photos were taken all along the ride but at a cost of 100 dollars !! We heard some people in the group were offered the pictures for less.
