Mandatory if you are in Bayahibe - They take you by catamaran with open bar and music, you can stop by the natural pools you can see starfish, on the island you have a pretty good buffet (it was my turn to do this type of excursions in other places and this was much more abundant and varied than any other) In the port of Bayahibe they offer in USD 55 but the price drops a lot when you negotiate it, there are thousands of offers in the place so do not worry if you do not hire it before

Tour to Sahona Island. - Excellent tour with Mildred, our guide, who was attentive to all our needs and concerns. Very good transfer and food. The bad, the zero empathy of the bar boys, to turn the music down a bit, on the catamaran back.

Paradise and tourist island. - The place is beautiful. The excursion very well organized. Value for money 100%. After we know it's a sightseeing tour, so there's a lot of people. But that's the game. Ps: Yes there are plenty of additional proposals (photo, massages, souvenir, lobster...) but no obligation.

Saona stunning but not sure it’s worth the commute - We left our hotel at 7 AM and drove around for three hours to pick up guests from other hotels. We stopped at one point in an IKEA parking lot for over 30 minutes with no explanation as we waited for smaller vans to bring people to our bus. At one point, someone did say we would leave in about 20 minutes, but there was no further explanation It was well after 10 AM by the time we were on the highway and headed toward our excursion. About 30 minutes later we pulled into a truck stop so everyone had a chance to go to the bathroom and the tour company could sell us souvenirs . By the time we got to Bayahime, which is the town you board the boat to go to the island. It was well after 11. We boarded a motor boat, which took us out to catamaran. Once we loaded the catamaran, we had to wait for a second motorboat to arrive with more people. We finally arrived at Saona island at 1:30. The island is absolutely beautiful. The water is majestic. There are millions of palm trees. It really is a little piece of paradise. The lunch they served was great . I had chicken and fish, pasta and rice. Surprisingly good variety. We swam until 3:40 when it was time to board a boat back to the town. About halfway back on the motor boat, we stopped at another shallow area of water, which was identical to the water at Saona. It was beautiful, but I’m not sure what the purpose was. Once we got back to the bus, the tour company tried to sell souvenirs on the bus to all the passengers with photos that were taken throughout the day. This resulted in another maybe 30 minute delay sitting on the bus before we could actually start to head back. On the way back again, there were multiple delays and confusion with people, not knowing what was happening where to get off. We stopped at the gas station for about 25 minutes while a smaller bus came and tried to decide which people they were going to take and who is going to stay on the bus. By the end of the day, we returned back to our hotel at about 8:30 PM was only about three hours of actual excursion time The majority of our day yesterday was driving around while the company, tried to find different people from different hotels it’s very little communication about what was happening

Full-Day literally. - Where to begin? The title full-day is not an exaggeration. We had to be ready at 7am to get to a port. Unfortunately, each resort does not send a shuttle directly to the port. We had to stop at 3 other resorts and wait for people to show up. It took us over 90 minutes before arriving to the port. There are also a 20 minute stop to purchase souvenirs along the way. Why would I want to buy items, en route, as I would have to carry more things? The highlight of the day was the crew. They were excellent and provided fun throughout the 1 hour & 40 ride (multiply the time by 2). We did not reach the island until around 1245pm. Lunch was ready in about 15 minutes. We were then told, we'd only be at the island for 2.5 hours. Once again, I go back to the title of a Full-Day Excursion. I do not recommend this excursion if you are looking for an actual full day at the island.
