Great Cultural Experience in The D.R. - This was a fun tour with the kids. First, the company arrived on time and we had the opportunity to participate in all of the activities that were promised. We were on a van instead of the safari bus but we booked last minute the night before and were the only ones participating on the tour that day. We never felt rushed and Carlos, our tour guide was fantastic. There was a little language barrier but he more than made up for it with the whole experience. Carlos and the van driver made sure to accommodate for our 3 young children (3,5 &7). Thank you so much! I would wholeheartedly recommend this company!

Our half day adventure - The adventure was entertaining throughout the day, although a little hit and miss on the destinations. The beach spot was okay, but, other than a few photo ops, was too rough to wade in and spent too long there. The next stop was very good. An energetic guide through a cigar factory, where you roll your own, sample rum and mamajuana (a port like rum fortified wine) and local sweets (all for sale). A horseback ride for 10 minutes and more photo ops (it was actually quite fun). A brief stop in the mountains to a family chocolate/coffee/sugar cane farm and a walk through of their abode. Interesting visit, but it felt a little awkward walking through their home (one woman was showering). A visit to a Catholic church with an iconic Mary painting. Good photos of old architecture. Another souvenir shop and a really good lunch at a local eatery. There were even excellent vegetarian options. Driving through town was a treat as well, although we hit rough traffic when the schools let out. But, that wasn't their fault. It made for a fun adventure, and chats with lovely people, from others tourists, guides and destination hosts.

Has Potential - I would like to give this tour a great review however too many things were not very good. When this tour was booked an English tour guide was requested. When we were picked up, we were informed the English speaking guide did not make it to work. The two people we had, the driver and photographer spoke very little English. As a result, we missed out on being informed about so many of the things we were seeing. Friends of ours went two days before and they had an entirely better experience. Our first stop was Macao beach, which again was another disappointment. We did bring our bathing suits, however, if we chose to go in the water, there was no place to rinse off and we didn't bring towels. This stop should have been saved for the end. We next stopped at a cigar making shop with a gift store on the main floor. We enjoyed this experience very much and the souvenirs were reasonably priced. Next stop was horse back riding. Let's just say, riding on a horse while a guide pulls the horse from the front through a muddy grass pasture. Nothing overly exciting. Next stop was the cathedral / basilca. Very nice because we were met by an English speaking guide. Very informative and well done. Lastly we stopped for lunch at a very nice local spot and the food was very good. Last negative point was the drive back to the hotel which took 90 minutes, very painful.

Alex did a great job inspired of the accommodations - The vehicle was insufficient, we were stuffed in a van with no leg room for adults. Not good at all.
