True DR Cultural Experience - This was the perfect cultural experience of Dominican Republic for us!! Carlos was an amazing tour guide and I truly feel like we did WAYY more than what was in the description of the tour. My favorite part was driving into the mountains to see a traditional family home and all the amazing plants/fruit trees right in their backyard. We really wanted to feel like we experienced DR and weren’t just resort chillin’… Carlos delivered that better than we expected!!!

Day in Dominican Republic - Great experience. Lovely workers and very accommodating. Tons of DR experiences in one day. Highly recommend. The horse ride, tour of a typical Dominican house. Tobacco and cocoa making, and lunch were great!

Friends gathering - This was a tour to view how the Dominican's really live. The tour guide was very informative friendly, fun and patient. The restaurant that we ate at was just okay, nothing fancy. The trip was well worth the investment. I always enjoyed learning how local residents live.

Fun Time! - The experience was amazing! Pick up came on time and it was just us in the van. You have enough time at each stop to see everything and we didnt feel rushed! The beach was beautiful and horseback riding was nice. The cigar stop was so much fun! We went to a Dominican house and it was such a good experience. She grows everything in her backyard, please be sure to buy! (Cacao, coffee., sugar, cinnamon)

We enjoyed the unexpected... - We enjoyed the unexpected *private* tour with Carlos. He was knowledgeable, nice, and offered us free drinks on different occasions throughout the tour. He also provided us with free videos and photos of us engaging in the activities!! Overall great experience. I only wish there was better communication prior to the excursion as we didn’t know what time our pick-up was, and had to messaged them first.

It's a pleasure - It started off a little rocky as the pick-up was running a little late (15 min). We were picked up in a van with another family and was on our way. Our first stop was the cave. We saw a cave that had clear blue water. No one got in, so I am not sure if it was allowed or not. The photographer took some pictures, and we were on our way to the next stop (lasted 10 min max). Our second stop was at Macao Beach. They warned us of the vendors being a little pushy and overpriced. We did not experience this at all. My daughter and I rode the horses; which she loved!! The ride was short, but enough time to enjoy the experience. We had time to lounge on the beach while the other family had their experience on the horses. When we returned to the van, we were offered bottle water, Coke, Sprite, and Rum as refreshments. Our third stop was to the home of a Dominican family. Here, we were able to meet the family and walk through their home. This was an amazing experience!!! The family was so very nice. They allowed us to pick some of the fruit from their many trees. The lady then gave us a demonstration on the process of making coffee and chocolate from their cocoa beans. The presentation was somewhat lacking as we had seen a similar presentation the day prior. However, we made a purchase as we believed it would assist this family. Our next stop was to the cigar factory. This was my fiancé's favorite!! Thye presented us with complimentary cigars (many flavors to select from). We then went updating where they gave us a lesson on the process of making cigars. They then allowed us to sit and roll a cigar. We then went to their gify shop to taste Dominican candy and Mama Juana. I found the prices of many of the souvenirs to be affordable and much less expensive than the resort. Our next stop was to the church. My only complaint is that they charge $ 1 USD for adults to enter. I feel like asking for a donation would go over much better and would not be a problem for most. Our guide did offer to pay the fee for our group, but we all declined. We then headed to a restaurant. Here, we were able to order anything off of the menu at no cost to us (we were all unsure if it would be at our expense but was advised that it was included). This was a great surprise as usually when an excursion says lunch is included, it is never to this magnitude. The food took forever to come out (my only complaint). This is where the photographer sits after your lunch is completed and goes over the pictures and video that she captured during your journey. The cost was $60 USD for everything. Our last stop was to the market to experience their cure and do some shopping. Whilst this was a good experience, we all agreed that we could have just gone back to our hotels after lunch. All in all, it was a great experience, and I would definitely do it again!!

Bad experience - It wasn't what we paid for, there was no Tour Guide, there were no drinks but a bottle of water, they changed the tour and took us to a market, there was no beach visit, there were no alcoholic drinks or anything but a small bottle of water. The photographer was pretty stubborn and wanted 50 bucks for some pictures. I don't recommend it anyone came forward with an apology for what we paid and didn't receive.
