Amazing Tour! Definitely recommend! - This tour was amazing! Our tour guide, Marlon was so very friendly and informative. On the ride getting to our kayakers he shared some history about the area and Costa Rica. He also shared his wealth of knowledge of the mangrove, different animals and again the history. We had an amazing traditional Costa Rican lunch and they accommodate my dietary preferencel (I am vegan) which I appreciate so much. I would definitely recommend this company and Marlon. Best tour guide! Mucho gracias! Pura Vido!

Beautiful kayaking experience - Such a wonderful experience! Kayaking in the mangroves was serene and beautiful. Our guide, Mega, was funny and very knowledgeable. We absolutely loved this activity that was equally beautiful in the sun and in the rain. We also saw so many monkeys!! Highly recommend!

Iguana Tours - Mangroves Kayak Tour - We had a great time on our kayak tour and would highly recommend it. We did tours w/Iguana Tours three days in a row and they were great every day. Marlon (aka Mega) was our kayak guide, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and paced the trip well. He went out of his way to try to find wildlife for us to see. We did get rained on but still enjoyed the experience. After the tour, we had an authentic and delicious Costa Rican lunch, thanks to Ronny the cook!! Shout out to William (the boat guide) and Randolph (the driver), all were great!

An extremely relaxing experience - A very peaceful experience. The mangrove is extremely relaxing, we saw crabs, storks of various types, black hawks, and the guide Mega explained to us the different types of trees and animals in the mangrove.

Kayak in the mangroves - Iguana Tours - guided kayak tour through mangroves. Guide (Roberto) was very informative, quite capable, and allowed our small kayak group to take in the nature around us. He explained to us the four main types of mangrove trees, their place in the ecosystem, and their benefit to the environment. He pointed out various plants and animals and signs or tracks, and their major roles. He was also quite attentive to safety without being distracting. He demonstrated his love for the outdoors and was completely at ease, which set the tone for the rest of the group.
Iguana Tours location in Quepos was easy to drive to, and provides adequate parking onsite. Iguana Tours can also pick you up from your lodging.

Pleasant half day trip in the mangrove forest - We were very impressed with our Iguana Tours experience. We had booked an ocean kayak and snorkeling trip but did not want more sun. They allowed us to switch to the mangrove kayak trip as an alternative. The mangrove forest was warm but had more shade than the ocean which is what we needed.
The tour van picks up its passengers at several hotel locations and brings them all to the location that iguana has for the mangrove boat and kayak tours. Then it brings everyone back to their hotels.
The tour guides, Mega and Jason, were very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a large group of 18 but the guides managed the group of German, French and English speakers well. The tour was in English so the French and German speakers also had to know English but attention was paid to make sure as much could be understood as possible.
Mega had a good sense of humor and was a good spotter of wildlife. We saw tiger herons, blue herons, white-faced monkeys, crabs, a silky anteater in the distance, a night hawk in the distance, and a green iguana. The mangroves were a pleasant paddle and we followed a couple of narrow channels to get a feel for the swamp. Jason and Mega were patient with the younger kids on the tour who tired quickly.
At the end, a lunch of pollo con arroz is served at the Iguana Tour premises. It is not fancy but it gives people on the tours to talk to one another.
It is not a rigorous trip and it is safe to bring cameras and binoculars. You are not likely to tip or go in the water unless you have poor balance. Your hands will get wet from paddling and feet from getting in an out of the kayay but that's about it.

Lovely time learning about the importance of mangroves! - We had a great time kayaking and learning about the mangroves! At the end of the tour, the guides served us a typical lunch before busing us back to Quepos. Well worth the trip!
Things to know: Don't feed the monkeys. Wear water shoes for getting in and out of the kayak. Bug spray is a must. If you're super fluffy, the single kayaks are tippy. You're better off doubling up on a wider, two person, kayak with a buddy.

Beautiful tour, great guide, reliable company. - The little channels of the mangrove forest are amazing with a peaceful, silent atmosphere. I booked a group tour as a solo traveller, but the other two participants canceled the tour in the last moment (when we were already in the van). Although the group tour is not offered for only one person, they didn't cancel my tour, but made it for the originally agreed price.
