Putre - The tour begins at 09:30 a.m. from your hotel or accommodation. We start with a quick visit to the city, including the Asoagro Terminal, a typical northern market. We then stroll through the Azapa Valley to see geoglyph panels, particularly “La Tropilla”. We visit the San Miguel de Azapa Archaeological Museum, home to the world’s oldest mummies, and cross to the fertile Lluta Valley for a stunning view of both valleys. We stop at the Village of Poconchile to see its main attraction, the 17th-century Church of San Jerónimo. Along the way, we observe the Quebrada de Cardones, where the Candelabra Cacti dominate the desert landscape, and visit the nearby Magnetic Zone. We pause for a panoramic view of the Pukara Canyon of Copaquilla, a pre-Inca defensive fortress, and visit the picturesque Socoroma Valley, perched on the edge of a deep ravine. The tour concludes in the town of Putre (3,500 m.a.s.l.), the capital of the Parinacota province, around 6:00 p.m. with accommodation at your lodging.
