Highlights
  • Giza Plateau - At 8:00 am, you’ll be picked up from your Cairo hotel by our expert tour guide. You’ll then be transferred to the Giza pyramids in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. Your full-day tour begins with a visit to the famous Giza Pyramids, where you’ll see the Great Pyramid of King Cheops. Enjoy a 20-minute camel ride to immerse yourself in history. Our guide will then take you to a panoramic spot where you can view all the pyramids at once. Next, you’ll visit the Valley Temple, also known as the Mummification Temple, where King Chephren’s body was mummified. This is also where you’ll get a closer look at the Sphinx.
  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site remains unexcavated. The valley temple was connected to a causeway, which was largely destroyed during the village’s construction.
  • Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. Several statues of Khafre were found in the valley temple, some discovered in a well by Mariette in 1860 and others during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
  • Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
  • Great Sphinx - Next, visit the Sphinx statue. Our guide will help you take memorable photos, choosing the best locations for your shots.

Lunch is included at a local restaurant, but beverages are not included.

  • The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - After visiting the Giza pyramids, you’ll drive to Cairo city center to visit the Egyptian Museum, one of the largest museums in the world. It houses a vast collection of statues and the treasures of King Tutankhamun.

Around 3:00 pm, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.

A Bit Disappointing - Although this is a private tour, we did not find the flexibility that we had on our other tours. It is a good tour, but there are some things you should be aware of if you are booking. Some of this may have depended on our particular guide. *if you do not want to shop at the stops chosen by the company, it will not be a full day tour. We were asked not to talk to local vendors, but to wait for the shops they would take us to. *If it is Ramadan, your guide may tell you that the tour will end by 3. I respect that, but you may want to ask when you book and before you pay what the expectation will be. *Do some research beforehand and decide if you want to go inside the pyramids. Our guide discouraged us from doing so, but my family members did want to go inside and were very glad they did. *We felt very rushed at the pyramids even though our day ended early. We were discouraged from stopping and taking our own pictures and told that our guide would tell us which were the best pictures to take or would take them for us. Let your guide know you would like to take your time and if you prefer taking your own pictures. *the company graciously allowed the guide to switch our museum to the newer museum since we had gone to the other museum on our own, but we were asked to pay extra. *We did not book lunch through the tour, and our guide had to ask permission for us to stop and sit down to eat lunch rather than getting takeaway and taking it back to our hotel. Our booking was made through a travel agent, along with several other tours in Cairo, and our experience at the other tours was much better.
