Egyptian Museum And Cairo Tower & Boat Ride On The Nile
The Egyptian Museum in Cairo - Begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel by a guide to start your full-day tour visiting the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. It showcases the largest and most valuable items of Egyptian art in the world. The museum houses a rare collection of over 250,000 genuine artifacts dating back as far as 5000 years, including a special exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamun – a collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry that were buried in his tomb for over 3,500 years before being discovered in the 1920s when his tomb was excavated.
Cairo Tower - Next, visit the Cairo Tower (Egyptian Arabic: برج القاهرة, Borg El-Qāhira), a free-standing concrete tower in Cairo, Egypt. Standing at 187 m (614 ft), it was the tallest structure in Egypt for 37 years until 1998, when it was surpassed by the Suez Canal overhead powerline crossing. It was the tallest structure in North Africa for 21 years until 1982 when it was surpassed by the Nador transmitter in Morocco. It was the tallest structure in Africa for one year until 1962 when it was surpassed by Sentech Tower in South Africa.
One of Cairo’s well-known modern monuments, sometimes considered Egypt’s second most famous landmark after the Pyramids of Giza, it stands in the Gezira district on Gezira Island in the River Nile, close to downtown Cairo.
Nile River - Then transfer to downtown Cairo where the pier is located to board the most traditional Egyptian boat known as a Felucca. Enjoy a 1-hour Felucca ride, a relaxing experience along the River Nile, where you can discover the amazing nightlife of Cairo or enjoy the warm sun during the day. After the ride, our representative will transfer you back to your hotel.
National Museums Of Egyptian Civilization, Citadel & Old Cairo
National Museum of Egyptian Civilization NEMC - Begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel by a tour guide to start your full-day tour visiting The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. The main Exhibition Hall showcases the four main crafts that shaped Egyptian civilization: pottery, wood, textile, and ornaments. You can see the oldest prosthetic toe in the world, the skeleton of a man dating back 30,000 years, the Kaaba Cover (kiswaa Al kaaba) which was the last one made in Egypt during the time of President Naser, and the Mahmal which used to carry the cover from Egypt to Saudi Arabia every year in a grand parade. Also, you can see the Kaaba key, Clepsydra which is an ancient time-measuring device, and all the royal mummies which were moved in a royal parade from the Egyptian museum to the civilization museum.
Cairo Citadel - Visit one of the oldest citadels in Egypt, built by Salah El Din El Ayoby. Here, you will also visit and enter one of the most beautiful mosques in Egypt, the Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque because it’s covered with Alabaster stone.
The Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha or Alabaster Mosque is situated in the Citadel of Cairo in Egypt and was commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848.
Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary) - The Hanging Church is named for its location above a gatehouse of Babylon Fortress, the Roman fortress in Coptic Cairo (Old Cairo); its nave is suspended over a passage. The church is approached by twenty-nine steps; early travelers to Cairo dubbed it “the Staircase Church”. The land surface has risen by some six meters since the Roman period, so the Roman tower is mostly buried below ground, reducing the visual impact of the church’s elevated position. The entrance from the street is through iron gates under a pointed stone arch. The nineteenth-century façade with twin bell towers is then seen beyond a narrow courtyard decorated with modern art biblical designs. Up the steps and through the entrance is a further small courtyard leading to the eleventh-century outer porch.
Synagogue Ben Ezra - The Ben Ezra Synagogue (Hebrew: בית כנסת בן עזרא, Arabic: معبد بن عزرا), sometimes referred to as the El-Geniza Synagogue (Hebrew: בית כנסת אל גניזה) or the Synagogue of the Levantines (al-Shamiyin), is situated in Old Cairo, Egypt. According to local folklore, it is located on the site where baby Moses was found.
This was the synagogue whose genizah or storeroom was found in the 19th century to contain a treasure of abandoned Hebrew, Aramaic, and Judeo-Arabic secular and sacred manuscripts. The collection, known as the Cairo Geniza, was brought to the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England at the instigation of Solomon Schechter. It is now divided between several academic libraries, with the majority being kept at the Cambridge University Library.
Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus - Abu-Sergah & St. Barbara Old Cairo is an iconic religious site that beautifully preserves the essence of ancient Egypt. Situated in Old Cairo, this captivating complex stands as a beacon of Coptic Christianity and an embodiment of the country’s fascinating history. Admire the stunning craftsmanship and timeless beauty displayed in the intricate designs, ancient relics, and sacred icons throughout the church and monastery. Whether you are intrigued by architecture, spirituality, or simply appreciate the allure of historical landmarks, Abu-Sergah & St. Barbara Old Cairo offers an enriching experience like no other.
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
