Upon arrival in Abydos, begin your tour by discovering the ancient sites. First, visit Abydos Temple. The Temple of Hathor at Dendara is perhaps the best-preserved in Egypt, with its walls still showing full color. Located about 135 km from Luxor, the ancient Egyptians believed the god of the underworld was buried there. The temple was built by King Seti I and completed by King Ramses II, and is known as the Temple of Seti I.
- Dendera - Located in Abydos city, about 420 km south of Cairo in the Sohag Governorate and 135 km from Luxor, the paintings of the gods and pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are among the most beautifully preserved in Egypt. Continue to Dendara to visit the Temple of Hathor, the goddess of love and joy.
The temple is situated in Dendara, north of Luxor. At the end of the tour, around 5:00 pm, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Luxor.
