Amazing Jungle Adventures - The Tour was amazing! The Caves are incredible and our Guide Son did a very good Job. He has a lot of knowledge and could answer all our questions. He is a real Jungle Boss and we felt safe and had so much fun! We can definitely recommend this tour and our guide to anyone visiting Phong Nha.

An authentic jungle and cave experience supported by experienced and helpful guides. - I arrived at ‘Jungle Boss’ at 8am and we were given a safety safety briefing - be aware of poison ivy, spiky trees and leeches. We were given specific trekking boots, a helmet, and specific gloves. We had 3 guides for 9 people, and they had a first aid kit. I had the feeling this was going to be serious stuff and I was right.
Within 10 minutes we were wading thigh deep through a river with a strong current holding onto a rope. We scrambled up steep muddy trekking paths taking footholds on rocks and tree routes and held onto vines, tree trucks and branches. I haven’t got this steep terrain on camera as I had to focus on the pace was not slow.
After an hour we arrived at Ma Ha cave which is only accessible by swimming. We put on our swimming costumes and were given lifejackets and a head torch, which the guides checked that we had fitted correctly. We then swam through the dark cave for about 300 metres, still wearing our hiking boots. Bats were flying us and every now and then we lay on our back in the water as our head torches lit up the ginormous cave interior. It was truly wonderful. We swam at the side of the cave in order to avoid the current. Then when we arrived at the end of the cave we sat on a ledge and digested this awesome cave. At one point we all turned off our head torches and sat in silence. It was completely dark and all we could hear was the sound of dripping water echoing around the cave. We then got back in the water swam in the centre of the cave and were swooshed back to entrance by the current.
We then had another half hour trek to lunch stop which was accessed by crossing another river. We swam in turquoise waters whilst lunch was prepared - barbecued Tofu, chicken, sticky rice and salad.
We then had a mostly flat trek to elephant cave, but the final section was very steep. Elephant cave, so named because the person who discovered it thought the interior rock looked like an elephant. We scrambled through the cave to the back entrance and then back again.
It was an incredible to experience the raw elements of these caves with only 12 of us.

Fantastic adventure - This was the Highlight during our trip to Vietnam. We stayed in Dong Hoi and Linh helped us with the transfer arrangements, from our hotel to the Jungle Boss meeting point. He also helped us with the Reservation and gave us all the necessary information.
The guides are very helpful, they explain and help you throughout the tour. I recommend wearing not only hiking shoes but also good sandals, because not only do you swim in a cave about 300 meters, then walk trails in the middle of the jungle, you also cross several times rivers so you walk in the water. The boots they provide are not comfortable once wet and sandy inside.
Lunch was also quite an adventure on the shore of a lake, a piece of paradise, plus it was very rich. We ended up exhausted, sweaty, muddy, dirty, and completely happy!! A super adventure!!!

Great day tour of phong nha region caves - Excellent tour of Phong Nha caves - the trekking was great. The walk is a little challenging if not fit but our group (ages 12 - 57) managed fine. The swim in the crystal lake was awesome and the final cave the highlight as we swam / floated through caverns in life jackets

Amazing experience - The tour is quite sporty but it's worth it! We are surrounded by nature without meeting anyone, the landscapes are incredible. The guides are very attentive on the difficult paths and very kind

A true jungle hike - This is a true jungle hike experience. We wore hard hats and full cover clothes for protection and lights in Elephant Cave, swam in a waterhole, scrambled up and down rocky mountains and viewed a river flowing through another cave. It’s the wet season and it rained a lot, making for difficult and tiring hiking in mud, and we couldn’t swim in Mada Cave because of the strong current. But a really rewarding experience.

THAT WAS AMAZING - It was the best thing we experienced in our lives. The trip was prepared at the highest level, from the equipment to the routes and the knowledge of the guides. By the way, Layla, we love you, without you, your knowledge and great humor, it wouldn't be the same. WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND ❤️

Elephant cave and Mada valley AMAZING - Had an amazing day trip through the jungle and to 2 beautiful caves. Our guide Layla was the best guide ever, she was attentive and gave us good info about everything. She also made us feel safe the whole time. In this trip you go to 2 caves, one walking and one swimming. Both are very interesting to see and its really an experience.

Amazing day. One of the best things we have ever done - WOW! What a trip. One of the best things I have ever done. Jungle Boss tours are amazing. Our guide was Ha and she was magnificent. The trip was so well organised from beginning to end. The trek was physically challenging at times (particularly in the heat). Our 12 and 14 year old children managed it and were ably supported by the team along the way. The food is fantastic. The lake is as picturesque as it comes.
Would highly recommend. Thank you to all involved especially Ha and her superb team.

A must - This is an amazing day and such good fun. It is tough in places, so please don’t underestimate it. You will need a reasonable level of fitness to do the day.
The guides are amazing and will look after you from start to finish.
Whilst the activity itself is phenomenal, I do think their communication beforehand needs to be better. I’d messaged them the day before, as I had lots of unanswered questions. Their response only answered half my questions and led to some issues on the day because of a lack of information.
So to help, here’s my guide on what you need:
Footwear - they will provide (free) lightweight walking boots, or you can wear your own footwear. Trainers/fitted sturdy sandals are fine, but NOT flip flops. Be aware, there’s lots of mud and water, so wear something that you’re happy to get ruined.
Socks - must be long socks, so you can tuck your trousers in.
Trousers/Pants - MUST be long trousers to stop leaches, poison ivy etc. Ideally you want something long but light. They will not let you wear shorts, and I understand why now.
Top - they recommend a long sleeved top, but you can wear a T-shirt. I wore a tee and it was fine, but a long top would give you better protection.
Sunglasses - a lot of the day is in caves or under the tree canopy, so you don’t really need them. I took mine, but didn’t really use. It was more hassle constantly taking them on and off, and you can’t just carry them as you need both hands free.
Hat - again I don’t think you really need, as so much is it done out of direct sun.
Inspect spray - I didn’t use. The inspects are noticeable towards the end of the day, and at least one person got a little bite.
Food - they provide lunch, as well as a banana and some chocolate mid morning. I’d strongly suggest a good breakfast before you go, and if you’re a big eater, take a few easy to carry snacks as well - nuts, fruit etc.
Bag - they will provide you with a decent sized waterproof rucksack. If you have your own bag, you can just pop it straight inside.
Water - they provide plastic water bottles, and there are opportunities to top it up throughout the day. If you have your own, good quality, water bottle that keeps the water cold, then take your own.
Mobile phone - yes you can take it, as you have a waterproof rucksack. Your guide will take some pictures along the way as well, which are then sent for free by WhatsApp at the end of the day, which was a nice touch.
Towel - they provide one, so you don’t really need to take one.
Swimwear - you must bring swimwear to change into. At least two stops involve full on swimming.
Extra clothing - you will get very wet, sweaty and muddy. I therefore strongly suggest taking a few extra bits of clothing to change into. Personally, if I did it again, I take two extra T-shirts, as well as some shorts, underwear and socks. If you’ve worn your own trainers, you’ll need something to change into when the hike is complete. Flip flops at this point are fine/ideal.
Hope this helps .. enjoy :)
