The journey begins in Quasano, at the entrance of the Alta Murgia National Park, a village in Toritto (BA). After bidding farewell to the monumental Tree of Lie, participants will enter the oak grove. Following shaded paths, they will reach a panoramic viewpoint offering views of the Adriatic Sea, the centuries-old La Gloria Oak, and the ancient Jazzo Lamadenza, amidst fields of grasses and legumes. Here, a stone cistern serves as a habitat for amphibians and dragonflies.
In this area of transhumance, one can easily imagine retracing the footsteps of those who lived here centuries ago. In addition to shepherds and flocks of sheep, the area is home to large wild mammals, birds of prey, rare reptiles, edible wild plants, aromatic herbs, and the prized Toritto Almond, a local delicacy to savor.
