- Glenfiddich Distillery - As Scotland’s largest producer of single malt whisky, Glenfiddich Distillery remains one of the few privately owned distilleries. Built by William Grant and Family over 120 years ago, the distillery offers a tour led by knowledgeable staff who explain the whisky-making process. After the tour, enjoy a guided tasting of four exquisite single malts: 12-year-old, 15-year-old, 18-year-old, and 21-year-old. If time permits, visit The Whisky Lounge to sample a Balvenie Malt, as Glenfiddich’s owners also own The Balvenie Distillery.
- The Macallan Distillery - A visit to Speyside’s distilleries is incomplete without stopping at The Macallan. The distillery’s visitor center, refurbished in 2018, has received numerous awards for its design and architecture. The Whisky Wall is a must-see attraction. Enjoy a stop here to admire the wall and savor a tasting of their delightful single malts.
- Craigellachie - Lunch is at The Highlander Inn in Craigellachie, which boasts an impressive selection of over 300 whiskies from around the world and serves an excellent lunch.
- Cardhu Distillery - Once owned by a whisky smuggler, Cardhu Distillery was among the first to be acquired by Johnnie Walker. A tasting stop is included here.
- Aberlour Distillery - Although Aberlour Distillery’s new visitor center is under construction and tours are not currently available, it is listed as a backup option if other distilleries cannot be visited.
- Aviemore and the Cairngorms - After leaving Aberlour, the journey continues towards Aviemore, followed by a scenic drive through the Cairngorms back to Edinburgh.
