A must do while in NZ. - To be candid I am not a fan of LOTR, however, I am married to, and gave birth to 3 nerds. That being said, I really enjoyed the outing. While I didn't understand the movie references, being in the same place as this or that scene, I enjoyed the backstory of how the movie was made and many more details our guide Solly shared with us. His enthusiasm for the books and movie was paramount to him being an exceptional guide. It was an immersive experience. I had many emails with Kate prior to and after the booking. She was always quick to respond and very helpful. I had messed up the days I thought our tour was to be on. Kate made arrangements with Solly to come in to do our tour. That is exceptional customer service. Solly is also a talented singer that treated us to songs from the soundtrack.

Wondrous Views + LOTR Fan Fun - The Shire may be located on the North Island [and is tour worthy], but it cannot touch these views... Snow-capped, "remarkable" mountains, and so much more to discover in its wilds. Tristan guided us brilliantly along our journey [Thanks, Tristan]. This is definitely a tour to take, and get caught up in all the natural + theatrical wonder in - whether you are a LOTR fan or if you've never heard of it. Go, have fun, be amazed! :)

Fun and interesting - We booked the LOTR themed half-day experience with Pure Glenorchy and we are very happy and satisfied with the service, we saw beautiful places and were given interesting information and pleasant anecdotes related to the sets and in general to the two trilogies. It's a nice way to spend a pleasant morning and to be able to discover a rather remote area like Glenorchy with expert guides. Very fun to be able to wear costumes and transform into your favorite characters!

Do it - Tristan, being a huge lotr nerd like me, was the perfect guide for the tour. We had loads of fun and the sites are so good that I‘d say the tour is suitable even for non-lotr fans.

Rain or shine, let moments shine! - The journey started with a rain but Vicky, our very warm and knowlegeable tour guide, had been the sunshine throughout the trip. She brought us the experience that we never expected and the picnic was a plus. Thanks Pure Glenorchy & Vicky for this magical half-day tour.

LOTR FANS MUST DO! - Solly, our guide, grew up in the area and I have to say his knowledge and enthusiasm for the films and his love of nature really came through. We enjoyed this SO much. I would recommend every LOTR fan to book with Pure Glenorchy. Comfortable ride and small group.
