Above and Beyond Assistsnce - Above and beyond assistance from our driver, Ivan and the Milford sound cruise people. I managed to leave my glasses ( 2 sets in one case) on the boat. I called the next day to Awesome tours and they took all my details. We were already heading off towards Christchurch by then and I had no idea whether I would see my glasses again. But miraculously, our bus driver on the day, the wonderful Ivan, contacted me to say he had them and he would kindly send them on. He put them in express post immediately to reach our accommodation in Christchurch the next day!! He would not accept payment for this which was so generous…and I promise to pay it forward, Ivan somehow. So cheers to all involved and of course we enjoyed the bus and boat trips which all went smoothly otherwise. Please could someone at awesome/ great sights buy Ivan a beer or similar.

Memorable family experience! - We started the trip at Te Anau. Amazing experience from start to end. Not only the incredible sightseeing that you get along the way to Fiordland National Park, or the both cozy and dazzling boat experience through the fiords, but Shailendra, our bus driver, was the highlight of the trip making it a 10/10 fun, safe, memorable experience.

First Class Trip - Experience of travelling through parts of such a wonderful area of the South Island, with a knowledgeable and first class driver, was first class. Although the weather was against us, the trip was memorable. The captain and staff on Pure Milford were very friendly. Lunch was lovely and all in all well worth the money.

An unforgettable journey though Milford Sound scenery and stories - Two things stood out for Sue and I - the stunning scenery, and the tour guide/coach driver, Adrian. There was a good hard frost went we departed Queenstown early on a July morning, with fog that largely followed the lakes, but when it cleared the terrain was stunning. Snow-capped mountains were numerous, some rising starkly and steeply, and challenging us flat-country West Australians, with a horizontal mind-set, to have a go at estimating their altitude. Te Anau was interesting, in that, sitting alongside a large lake, it was fogged out on both the way in, and the way out, and had not seen the sun for 3 days. Milford Sound itself, in Fiordland, was quite beautiful, with all things deep, steep, and stunning, and easily viewable from the large and comfy cruise boat. Lunch was adequate without setting the world on fire. A word on Adrian: the scenery experience is one thing, and a big thing. Too often the service role of driver, guide, and raconteur, is underplaed. We are ageing Australians with an earthy sense of humour, perhaps not for everyone, but we quickly learnt to pay attention to his every word over the coach intercom, as there were jewels tied up in them. Not only was he knowledgeable with local agricultural practices (having once been a farmer, as we found out), and with the terrain characteristics we were passing through, but he had a wry, dry sense of humour that had us in fits of chuckling. Sadly, on our return trip to Queenstown in fading light, he advised that he'd done his talking on the way in, and that he would be largely silent. This was a shame, as we felt we could get another "petrol powered possum plucker' and similar descriptors out of him. A great guy, and great guide! A really good day.

Terrific trip. - Bus tour driver was knowledgeable and professional! The stops were scenic and the restrooms clean. The only critique is that the meeting spot was changed and we were not notified ahead of time. Luckily a staff member came looking for us and we didn’t miss our tour bus!
