- Queenstown - The tour begins in the breathtaking city of Queenstown. As the journey commences, the guide will not only set the stage for an exciting day but also highlight and navigate through some of the area’s top attractions.
- Kawarau Suspension Bridge - Leaving Queenstown, the route takes us through the Kawarau Gorge, showcasing stunning views, the Kawarau Suspension Bridge, and the renowned Roaring Meg Lookout. If time and lighting allow, there will be a stop for the first fantastic photo opportunity of the tour.
- Cromwell - Upon exiting the Kawarau Gorge, the tour enters the fruit and wine-growing region of Cromwell. Passing vast vineyards, the journey crosses Lake Dunstan and follows this picturesque lake towards Lindis Pass.
- Lindis Pass - As the altitude increases, Lindis Pass offers breathtaking views down through the valleys. Being one of only three alpine roads through the otherwise impassable Southern Alps, a stop at the famous lookout at the top of the pass is a must for a memorable photo.
- Omarama - While traversing the expansive plains of the Mackenzie district, several of the famous Merino sheep can be spotted before stopping at the charming township of Omarama. In Omarama, there is time for a break or even to sample what is considered the best creamy chicken pie in New Zealand!
- Lake Pukaki - Heading west, the tour begins to enter the Aoraki National Park, and Lake Pukaki starts to appear. Lake Pukaki is one of the bluest lakes imaginable, beautifully framed by the backdrop of Aoraki/Mt Cook and the Southern Alps. There will be a stop for incredible photos and to admire the breathtaking view. It’s easy to see why many Lord of the Rings scenes were filmed nearby, and these locations will be pointed out.
- Mount Cook Ski Planes & Helicopters - Helihike - Check-in and prepare for an adventure of a lifetime with a Tasman Glacier Heli Hike. The trip with Inflight includes a return scenic flight to and from the Aoraki/Mt. Cook base.
- Tasman Glacier - As part of the Helihike, participants will land on and explore the Tasman Glacier. Experience the thrill of walking on New Zealand’s largest glacier combined with stunning scenic helicopter fly-bys of New Zealand’s highest mountain, Aoraki/Mt Cook. The helicopter will fly to a drop-off point on a remote part of the glacier before beginning a guided exploration of the incredible ice formations. Follow the guide as they carve steps in the glacier, using skills passed down from New Zealand’s mountain pioneers.
- High Country Salmon - Bidding farewell to Aoraki/Mt Cook and heading back to Queenstown, there will be a stop at High Country Salmon, a local salmon farm, where visitors can feed the fish and taste some of the freshest salmon in New Zealand.
- Jackson Orchards - During the summer months, when the sun is still shining and as the tour nears Queenstown, there is often a stop at Jacksons Orchard to try or purchase delicious local fruit or real fruit ice cream.
- Queenstown - Unfortunately, the tour must conclude as the journey returns to Queenstown and farewells are exchanged.
