- Kawarau River - First your jet boat will race down the river to your next mode of transport, packing in those famous 360 spins and dramatic canyon walls as you discover the Kawarau River and it’s pristine wilderness. After 30 mins jump straight into a raft to complete the last section of the river. Raft through grade 2-3 rapids, take in the beautiful views, choose to join in on the optional rock jumping section for added fun (1hr raft time)
Please note for safety we have minimum weight restriction of 40 kg and maximum weight of 120 kg to participate.

Combining two of Queenstown’s most iconic activities, this trip is second to none! Starting on the Queenstown Jet Boat, you’ll get to experience those famous 360 degree spins and speed. Discover the Kawarau River and its pristine wilderness as we race you down the river to your next mode of transport. Then jump straight into a raft to complete the last section of river, where the Jet Boats fear to go. Spend your morning or afternoon paddling through the historic Kawarau gorge, famous for its gold mining, wineries and it’s stint in The Lord of the Rings franchise.
Paddle and swim your way through grade 2-3 whitewater rapids with a brand new cliff jumping section added for the adventure junkies (optional). Complete your journey by tackling the famous 400m Dog Leg rapid
- Must be able to swim
- Rafting while pregnant is prohibited
- Rafting with any heart condition is prohibited
- Minimum weight 40kg
- Maximum weight 120kg
- Minimum age is 13 years. Children aged between 13 and 15 years must be accompanied by a guardian
- All travellers between the age of 16 and 17 years require a waiver to be signed by a guardian if they are unaccompanied
- You must bring a swimsuit and towel

Cant miss this! - Amazing rafting down the river with a great team ! Super enthusiastic and great fun! Must do! We got lucky,, it was the second last day before they closed for the summer!!
Must do the jump into the river from the cliff!

What a ride! - What an adventure! We were taken from Queenstown on a bus to the location to get geared up for rafting. We then hopped on the bus again and went back in to town to begin our jet boating. What a ride! We then met the rest of the crew part way down the river for our white water rafting experience. The staff were amazing and this added to the whole experience. Highly recommend!

Do it!! - Fantastic experience. Staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful and organised. I was scares before the rafting but it was so much fun, I wanted more!! The jet boat was good, just note a lot is in the open water of the lake not the river as such, so it's probably not as "thrilling" as the shotover jet boating but a good intro and you get lots of 360 spins.
Don't hesitate, you will enjoy yourself.

White water rafting and jet boat - Really incredible experience. We started with the jet boat which was way cooler than we anticipated and finish off with white water rafting. Definally recommend

Highlight of our holiday! - Rafting on the Kawarau River was a highlight for my son and I. We loved it! The scenery is amazing especially if you’re a Lord of the Rings fan. The river is beautiful. The South African guide we had was great. We swam in the river jumping off a small rock face. The rapids are only level 1-3 which is a great introduction to white water rafting. We’ll definitely be doing it again! Shame about the photos being accidentally deleted though.

Kawarau River Rafting and Jetboat - The rafting experience was amazing. The views are beautiful and we have a chance to see bungee jumping along the way. There is even a stopover at a cliff for us to do cliff jumping and opportunities to swim. Thanks to our professional guides Jess and Will.
It is just a pity that we actually booked on rafting with Jetboat on the day . Due to the heavy rain , Jetboat was cancelled and we got our refund from the Real NZ staff (helpful and friendly).

great time rafting - We had an amazing rafting expert (sorry i cant remember his name) I was quite nervous as i had never been rafting before, but he put me at ease and my husband and i had a great time!

stunning views! - Went with some friends on Easter break and it was a great time! Only downside was one of our friends’ boyfriend was over the weight limit when we checked in at the store for our shuttle, however there were people who met us on site who looked likely to have been over the limit as well which was upsetting. However, Jess was a lot of fun and the pictures Will took turned out great! The wetsuits kept us surprisingly warm and overall it was good.
