Highlights
  • Queenstown - Your tour starts in the stunning city of Queenstown. As we drive out of the city your guide will not only set the scene for your adventurous day but also point out and guide you past some of the areas top highlights.
  • Kawarau Suspension Bridge - Departing Queenstown we then make our way through the stunning Kawarau Gorge passing stunning views, the Kawarau Suspension Bridge and the famous Roaring Meg Lookout. Time and light permitting we will stop for that first great shot of the tour.
  • Kawarau River - You’ll see stunning views of the Kawarau Gorge as we wind our way through the Gorge travelling towards Cromwell. We also make a stop at the incredible Roaring Meg Lookout for a great photo oportunity.
  • Cromwell - Exiting the Kawarau Gorge we enter the fruit and wine growing region of Cromwell. Passing huge fields of vines, we cross Lake Dunstan and follow this beautiful lake towards Lindis Pass.
  • Lindis Pass - Climbing in altitude, Lindis Pass has amazing views down through the valleys. Being one of only three alpine roads through the otherwise impassable Southern Alps, we stop at the famous lookout at the top of the pass for an essential photo.
  • Omarama - While driving through the endless plains of the Mackenzie district we will spot several of the famous Merino breed of sheep before stopping at the quaint township of Omarama. While in Omarama we have time for a break or even to try the best creamy chicken pie in NZ (in our opinion)!
  • Lake Pukaki - Turning west we begin to enter the Aoraki National Park and Lake Pukaki begins to emerge in front of us. Lake Pukaki is one of the bluest lakes you will ever see and is stunningly framed by the backdrop of Aoraki/Mt Cook and the Southern Alps. We stop for some amazing photos and to just marvel at the sight that we are beholding. It’s not hard to see why many Lord of the Rings scene were filmed nearby and we will point them out for you.
  • Aoraki Mount Cook National Park Visitor Centre - Arriving at Mt Cook Village, weather depending, we should get some amazing shots of the mountain itself. At 3724m, Aoraki/Mt Cook is New Zealand’s highest peak, however, the mountain can be viewed without any acclimatisation whatsoever from the village which is just 750m above sea level.
  • Aoraki Mount Cook National Park (Te Wahipounamu) - While in the national park you have 2.5 - 3 hours free time to enjoy free walks/hikes or one of the extra optional activities. Some of our recommendations include: The Hooker Valley hike – thought to be one of New Zealand’s most beautiful hikes. Heli Hike - this adventure on the Tasman Glacier is the ultimate way to enjoy the area. Scenic flights – see the region from the air and land on the Tasman Glacier. Whatever you decide to do we will pick you up and drop you off where you need to go and make sure you are well looked after.

At the end of the day, we will say our farewells and you will be dropped off in Alpine Village.

Best tour ever. - Words or photos can't capture how awesome this experience was. We drove through stunning landscapes, stopping at clay cliffs and Tasman hike (glaciers/lakes). Our guide, Cullan, was a Welsh gem—his upbeat energy and stories about the history of the areas made the trip made it come alive. There are a couple of options for different hikes, and depending on the weather, our driver always knew the best ones to recommend. He picked us up and dropped us off seamlessly, ensuring we had the best experience possible. Being part of a small group created a cozy atmosphere, and we had several chances to pause and appreciate the scenery. The glaciers in Tasman Valley were just a short, 15-minute walk to the lake, which felt just right, and the clay cliffs were only about 10 minutes away. This tour is perfect for anyone looking for adventure, and we just felt so lucky to have Cullan guiding us. His humorous and professionalism made the day so bloody fun. I can't recommend this tour enough; it’s truly a fantastic experience!

Queenstown to Mt. Cook tour - Tour guide, Jonathan, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Very small group so he was able to tailor to our interests. Ask him about Shrek, the lost sheep! Lovely hikes too. We stayed in Mt. Cook at the lodge so one way tour was perfect for plans.

Outstanding Time - Our guide, Tammy, was fantastic. She attended to everyone and spent time hiking with us. She had wonderful explanations, great stories, and terrific music. Although one of our participants was a bit delayed from the hike, Tammy managed to get us to Mt. Cook on time. We had a wonderful time on this trip.

Excellent Service! - I would like to compliment Pete for his excellent service! He is very helpful, did his home work to know who his guests are and got off his vehicle to help with luggage. His tour is very informative despite that he has to drive and speak at the same time. Good for someone like me who is new the the country! Overall excellent service!

Nice drive - Got us there in time to hike the Hooker Valley trail. Good driver and very personable. Be aware that if you are staying at the Hermitage it is a 45-60 minute walk after the hike. Our driver told us it was 20 minutes.
