Walters Peak Wilderness Adventure - Really friendly skipper who started a conversation on the cost of living in Queenstown. Quick no nonsense trip to Walters peak accompanied with a short message on the importance of coming to him if someone ended up overboard

Thumbs up - You will see a working farm, pet and feed the animals, and have high tea. And the Steamship is beautiful. Try the Mulled Ginger Bear.

Brilliant! Highlite of our Holiday - Fantastic day out! Highlite of our holiday! The ship was just great, cool to see the exposed engine room. Lunch on Walter’s Peak was just gorgeous and the Head Farmer showing the sheep shearing and Farm show was great. Quite a day, absolutely would do it again!

A great day out - The animals were definitely a highlight. Ashley and Mist put on a great farm show. The steamboat ride was a fun trip back in time. Would do this again.

A nice trip and big thumb up for the young captain. - We went on the last day of the catamaran which was our second time on this cat. The young captain is great, apart from the nice manouvering, his knowledge of the areas are also very impressive. We all enjoyed his storytelling. The food is nice as always. A worthy trip to do when in Queenstown. Very beautiful place.

100% worth it - We absolutely loved this attraction! Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the captains commentary on the ferry as the passengers were quite loud. We did the farm tour with Ashley and Mist, our kids loved feeding the animals and we appreciated Ashley’s patience with our little ones questions. Mist was amazing with her own show and loved the sheep shearing! The afternoon tea was really yum and great we could purchase drinks other than tea and coffee. All staff and guides were lovely and would highly recommend!

A beautiful boat ride - The beautiful scenery. The only thing that would have made it more pleasant would have been assigned seating on the boat. There were couples taking up booths for four people so there wasn’t enough seating for everyone.

Wonderful well-rounded experience - The day we visited the Farm was stunning - providing gorgeous scenery and great all-round experience. I think going on a wet day would diminish the enjoyment. Despite growing up in the 'country' in Australia, I still enjoyed learning about the different animals and my children (7&9) loved feeding them. The sheep shearing and sheep dog display was terrific (by Quinn) and certainly something the kids are still talking about. The afternoon tea was great for me, but not for the kids. The food was a bit 'fancy' - catering for adults and not children. I would recommend bringing snacks for kids. The ship travel was very calm - even for myself and my daughter who suffer motion sickness. My son loved being able to observe the engine room.

Good Experience - Needs some improvement - Visited in June 2024: Overall experience was good, the farm was beautiful, scenery was exceptional but the kids couldn't spend time with farm animals. Considering the tour price which was around 420 NZD for a family of 2 Adults and 2 Children, kids could only spend around 5 minutes per farm animal. Hi Tea was also good. There were around 3 cows, 1 deer, 3 goats, 2 alpacas, 8 sheep and a few pigs. We went for Hi-Tea and thought that will see the farm animals again, but when we came back, most of the animals are gone. We couldn't even take proper photographs of highland cows and alpaca. Sheep shearing demonstration was very good. When we visited in October 2022, there were more animals and kids could spend much more time feeding the farm animals. I took a number of photographs with Highland Cows.

A cruise not to forget - The staff were kind with smiles but unfortunately the experience is one not to forget and should not be tolerated by anybody. We were a family of 4 with elderly parents, had 3 prams with us (4 children and 1 infant). When we boarded, we were lucky to get a chair. The farm was a good experience, the tour guide was extremely friendly and warm with the children. The lunch included finger sandwiches, sweets and tea/coffee. Unfortunately, the bread was stale though the lemon meringue tarts eliminated that disappointment. The worst experience was when the tour was over and we had to board the vessel. We were the first in line (at the sign instructing to line up) however many non english speaking tourists pushed in and then english speaking elderly women pushed in. When my father boarded the vessel with my son first, he sat down where the elderly women were and was faced with discrimination. They said he couldn’t sit there with my son because it was reserved for the elderly (mind you my father just turned 67). My father resisted and with the little english he speaks said its not their country so he can sit. They told him to shoo and go back to his country. My husband and another family member confronted the elderly women for their discriminatory remarks and they just laughed. Overall, the children should not have to endure this kind of experience. The only constructive feedback i can provide is that there needs to be more control over seating. Understandably everyone wants to see a nice window view, perhaps charge extra for these seats or put extra measures so that people are not unfairly treated/discriminated.
