Absolutely delightful evening - Great trip on Earnslaw to Walter Peak. Bought champagne onboard as it was my friend's birthday and took rest of champagne to dinner. Absolutely fabulous bbq dinner - various seafoods and meats were delicious. Jacob is a most delightful waiter. We opted not to see the sheep shearing but continue our food, wine, dessert and chat to Jacob as we didn't want to rush this special occasion.

Lovely afternoon - Interesting to travel on the beautifully preserved TSS Earnslaw. It’s a short crossing across Lake Wakatipu to the farm. Lunch was much nicer than anticipated and the sheep shearing demo was really interesting, Quinn and Kim were great 😀

Must-do Queenstown experience - Steamer ride was like being in an Indiana Jones movie! Excellent buffet, best ever! The variety of meats, fish, fresh vegetable dishes and desserts was beyond compare. Sheep shearing and heading eye dog demo was amazing, fun and very informative. Had a very nice chat across the fence with an alpaca :-)

Wonderful Wedding Anniversary - 31st Wedding anniversary, my return visit and hubbys first. He appreciated everything I knew he would, the ambience, appetizer drinks on cruise and an exquisite dining meat selection. I was a little disappointed this round as I wasn't able to pace myself through the dining like previous, as stations were cleared too quickly. What I had though (as pictured) was indeed delicious. Entrèè delicious. My main included the various BBQ meat samples as the only station still open. The desserts may not have been their strength however, that assumption comes from leftovers observed not personal samples of the dish. Overall I'd still recommend the experience to anyone. Lovely staff having greeted us on arrival including the chefs.

Go for the ride and scenery, not the food - The steamship is coal burning and an interesting ride up and down the lake. But the “gourmet lunch” was hardly that…impossible to serve 200 people a buffet in 1 hour and make it great food. There were lots of choices, wide variety of meats, salads and sides. But it was ordinary food at best and we were rushed for the second seating on the next ferry in could be set up.
