The river’s course is steep and challenging, perfect for adventure seekers looking for an adrenaline rush. Guides will accompany you in kayaks to ensure your safety, and rafts are built to hold a maximum of 6 passengers. Pass through mountains, jungle gorges, farmlands and palm plantations. Tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off from hotels in Quepos or Manuel Antonio. Choose from one of two departure times when you book.
- Minimum age is 10 years
- A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
- Please bring rubber-soled shoes, swimsuit; shorts of a quick-drying material; towel; waterproof sun protection, and extra clothes

Beginner friendly without being dull - Had a great time during the rafting, in a pretty glorious setting. It was an exciting experience, but we never felt out of our depth on in danger. As expected came back sodden, but were able to change clothes in the restaurant bathroom (where the buffet lunch was pretty good!)

Highly recommended - A group of us did white water rafting with the team. My 10y was very nervous at the beginning. The guide (Mona) was terrific. Made her feel very relaxed and comfortable. Then guided us through a series of Class III and IV rapids with expertise and precision. Loved it and most importantly my daughter was happy too.

Fun guide, good times! - We were picked up on time at our hotel by the enthusiastic guide, Nicolas and our safety, Orlando. Along with one other couple, we were transported to the Tucanes tour office and lunch site and loaded onto an open-air bus. From there we embarked on a one-hour trip up a winding road along the Naranjo River. Following our safety briefing, we dropped into the river and rode some exciting rapids - lots of chop in the swift, dam-less river. As part of the season, the river was mocha-colored with its banks covered in jungle forest. We were soaked immediately and worked through lots of lines for a fun trip. Towards the end, we stopped and visited a beautiful waterfall, then returned to the raft to continue on our 90-minute trip (or so). At the pull out, our driver had some fresh fruit and drinks prepared and we drove back into town, about 20 minutes away (past palm oil plantations). Lunch was included, and we had some cafeteria-style options with some delicious chicken and rice. Great trip, nice focus on safety, and plenty of opportunities to discuss eco-tourism with our guide.

Amazing adventure - The trip was amazing! Our guide blew us away with his knowledge of the river, environment and everything that we would have missed. He had tremendous skill at navigating the river and we felt safe and secure!

Worth it just go - Was really fun, honestly highlight of my Costa Rica trip. Nicolas and Daniel were amazing guides if your fortunate enough to ride with them. Lots of laughs and got some good local recommendations for activities. Thanks again guys! Pura Vida

Adrenaline fueled river rafting with Nicholas and Eric--DO IT! - Nicholas and Eric---THANK YOU for an exhilarating experience! We were originally booked on the Class 2-3 (Saverge) river trip but poor weather the day prior prevented that trip so Toucanes Tours offered to have us do the class 3-4 trip. I'll admit I was scared even through I've been rafting lots of times--but both Nicholas and Eric spent time explaining all of the safety procedures and we easily put our trust in them. Do NOT do this tour unless you are okay with getting completely soaked--that's part of the fun. River water is warm--rapids are very challenging. Since we went during rainy season, the water was very high (at it's most dangerous level). Even at the most dangerous and scary moments of this trip, I never doubted that Nicholas and Eric would manage with their experience--and they did!
Highly recommend this trip--not for the faint-hearted. It should be on your bucket-list! Thank you Nicholas, Eric and Toucanes Tours for a wonderful experience.

Absolute recommendation! - Great fun, great care and a must do when in the area. Had planned to go with my 18-year old but came down with a cold and had to stay in bed last minute. Being off-season it turned out we would have been the only ones and without me they were one pair of hands short. They went out of their way to mobilise someone to help out so that my son could still have a great experience. Thank you!

Great rafting river. Lot's of rapids - It was fun, but was disappointed we had an overly cautious guide who kept putting us on the floor of the boat during the rapids. However, I was probably the most experienced of the four of us in our raft, and he may have had a point. So--if you are an experienced rafter, don't have Orlando as your guide. If you've never rafted before, or only a time or two, then he's your guy! He will get you through safely and you will still have fun.
