The Savegre River in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, is about an hour’s drive from the main hotel area in Manuel Antonio. The drive is easy, and your guides will make it an informative journey. Along the way, you’ll encounter parts of Quepos’ history, including small towns known as “Cuadrantes,” which are cultural and architectural legacies of the United Fruit Company’s presence in the region.

Upon reaching the river, the tour begins with a safety briefing and some practice. In addition to your expert river guide, a safety kayaker will accompany the trip. Over the course of a little more than 2 hours, you’ll enjoy occasional riverside stops and breathtaking views. The transport provided by the tour operator will pick you up at your hotel and drive 1 hour and 20 minutes to the Savegre River. During the road trip to the tour site you will see picturesque views of the African palm plantations, small towns, small rivers and jungle vegetation.
