The best tours company, best guide (Franklin), and best equipment. This is the one you're looking for! - You can not go wrong with Amigos Del Rio. We have always used them for our tours over the years and their level of service is top notch. My wife, and our three teens had a great time today kayaking in the mangroves. Franklin, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and funny. I'd definitely request him as your guide! Also, the the kayaks themselves were some of the best I saw on the water. We passed a few other tour groups and their equipment just didn't seem nearly as nice. A huge thanks to Franklin and Amigos Del Rio. Make sure to check out their other awesome tours as well!

Beautiful Trip! - We had a great time on this trip! We took our 10 and 12 year old girls and we had a wonderful time kayaking through the mangrove trees. Our guide, Franklin, was extremely knowledgable about everything we saw and provided so much wonderful information about the eco-system. This was a fun, relaxing and beautiful activity and the lunch at the end of the trip was fantastic! Highly recommend!

Great Experience - I always love getting on the water and paddling, but this kayak tour was extra special in large part because our guide, Franklin, was excellent. He shared his wide-ranging knowledge in a gentle, interesting way as we paddled along. Franklin was able to see and show us so much we would have missed - like a yellow boa constrictor curled up in the branches of a bush, a large iguana which was hard to distinguish from the tree where it sat, and a beautiful bare-throated tiger heron camoflaged among the branches and leaves, and many other birds and creatures. The tour was unhurried, and I found it both relaxing and exciting.

Great mangroves tour with Franklin - We had the best morning with Franklin and our driver, Alejandro! Franklin is fun and full of energy but also knows his stuff. He is super knowledgable about the mangroves landscape, local animals, history of the area, culture - you name it. We were impressed and learned a lot! He also helped us find some cool birds we had our eye out for (Tiger Heron). Alejandro had fresh pineapple and cookies waiting for us at the end, and we finished up with an amazing Costa Rican breakfast at their main hub. We'd definitely recommend - and would go again! Pura vida!

Beautiful tour with a lot of good information - We did this tour in December with Franklin as our guide. He was very informative and could answer any questions we had. The tour was relaxed and beautiful with a lot of great scenery in the mangroves. Franklin pointed out animals and plants to us and it is so nice to gently float in silence on the river. A great tour!

Recommend this Mangrove Tour - We went to Damas island with Franklin, who is awesome. It's a great company with great guides. The shuttle and lunch were very nice. All the people are great. I didn't rate the kayaking 5 stars as I thought we'd be kayaking more in the "wild". All of the kayak tours of course start at a road, but I thought we then leave civilization behind. The tour was nice and we saw moneys, birds, lizards, and mangroves. Franklin's english is excellent and he has great knowledge and sense of humor. My wife and I were the only clients on the tour, so it was a private tour! The main canal we paddled was between the road/houses and an old sugar can field. For such a small group (3) in single kayaks, I hoped we'd go through the mangroves and towards the ocean. I recommend this tour, we learned a lot about the mangrove forests.
