Great experience & saw many animals - Awesome! Very knowledgeable and friendly guide, whose respect and enthusiasm for nature was appreciated. We saw several snakes, many lizards (including an iguana), a turtle, a baby crocodile, heron and other birds, a sloth and monkeys. Pace was good. We were provided delicious fruit before the tour which was appreciated. Definitely worthwhile. As a note to other potential visitors - would definitely recommend the kayak tour as it was peaceful, personalized and gave us a chance to take in our surroundings.

Great kayak tour with Jonny - Beautiful trip in the kayaks with Jonny. The base is beautiful, with gardens and very nice facilities. Jonny was great, patient, and showed us very cool things about the natural world in the mangroves. We saw monkeys, scarlet macaws, iguanas, butterflies, a caiman, and Jonny told us about the ecology of the mangroves. The river was a little busy with motor boat tours. The boats were great and everyone was so welcoming. My 13 year old daughter enjoyed the activity, even though she had had enough of all our nature tours. The meal at the end was so good! ¡Pura Vida!

An amazing mangrove experience! - We had a fantastic mangrove morning tour with our guide Jhonny, who was very gracious and professional. We saw a lot of different animals, including animals that we had not seen anywhere else, e.g., hummingbirds, raccoons and a kayman. The mangrove tour was so beautiful and peaceful and the farm itself is an amazing place!

Fun and informative kayak tour, with excellent staff and views. - Mangrove Kayaking tour was so much fun! Johnny was an excellent guide! He spotted so many animals to show us and had so much expertise to share. I would highly recommend this tour especially with Johnny. The other guides and employees we interacted with were excellent as well. They took great care of us. Even fun when it rained. Keep an eye out for the cute cats on site. The first part of the tour was walking around the site learning about plants and seeing the other animals like the chickens and even a friendly water buffalo that we were able to pet.

Exceeded expectations — one of the best tours I’ve done ! - The kayak through the mangroves along the Damas river exceeded our expectations. The guide, Johnny, was so knowledgeable, fun, and patient, pointing out and sharing interesting facts about the wildlife and nature we saw along the way. I especially appreciate that nacarcosta aims to appreciate and preserve the wildlife without disturbing them, thus they do not feed or interact with any wildlife. We saw sloths, monkeys, a boa, bats, herons, hawks, a turtle, land crabs, and iguanas. The river is calm and in the kayaks we were able to go at our own pace—though it is a bit of a workout! We got rained on a bit but it enhanced the peaceful and beautiful experience. This tour ended with a great typical lunch, including the best pineapple, and then a ride back to the hotel. This is one of my favorite tours I’ve done!

Peaceful morning kayak with Johnny - We loved the beautiful morning we spent on the farm and kayaking in the mangrove with Johnny. He was a wonderful guide and we appreciated that he truly cared for the land and the animals. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the mangrove and is a bird-watcher + photographer, so he was able to point out so much and teach us a lot about the flora and fauna. His gentle spirit was refreshing and my husband + two young sons enjoyed our time with him tremendously. It was a treat to have a private kayak tour with him. Thank you, Johnny! Please come visit us in California. We need more people like you on this planet who do their best to respect our natural resources.

Pleasant but Uneventful Tour - Our guide and the rest of the staff were very nice. But the activity is kinda dull. They walk you around the property to see some trees and water buffalo to start, which is pure filler. I wished we had driven there and skipped the lunch and property tour. The ride through the mangroves is pleasant but uneventful. You see a few animals and trees and get some exercise, but you can do that during the tour of Manuel Antonio National Park that most every visitor does. We passed another tour's boat where the guides were feeding monkeys so they would come close (which Nacarcosta rightfully disdains, though it is a competitive disadvantage); that was actually the highlight. All in all, this tour group does a good job, but it's not a must-do activity.
