Delicious, informative and fun - Fatima was a wonderful guide and couldn't be stumped by even the weirdest question about the fruit, the plantation, Madeira, it's history and people. She was bubbly and fun. The fruit tasting at the end of the tour was interesting and delicious too. Afterwards we enjoyed the restaurant and the pier. Don't forget to bring bathing suits!

Return visit! - This was a return visit but this time we booked the tour and fruit tasting. Fatima, who conducted the tour, was knowledgeable and passionate about the area. Just look up their website and book. After the fruit tasting we remained at the restaurant to have a light lunch of Limpets washed down with Poncha. As I said in a previous review, this place is worth the effort to get there. It cost us €50 return to get a taxi from our hotel.

unique experience - My husband and I visited Faja dos Padres. We hesitated a bit booking a tour since there were a few bad reviews but decided to go anyway since the price wasn't too crazy. (€30 includes the roundtrip cable car rides which is €12 if you purchase searately). We are so glad we did it. Fatima was our guide and she went details on history of the island, of Faja dos padres and also the agriculture. She was very friendly and tried to share with us as much as she could; fruits, flowers, history of vines, monarch butterflies, its caterpillars & cocoons, different types of mangos, farm animals, family history and so much more! I had a lot of fun tasting 3 different types of mangos and 2 different types of banana as I personally really love fruits. We also got to eat lunch after without a reservation and the food was delicious. Service is a bit slow but that's not unusual in the island. I also bought some fruits once we returned to the top. We are planning to go back tomorrow to hang out around the beach. I would highly recommend this experience. BRING A HAT!

Incredible - The cable car costs €12. Incredible 250m route. Down there is total peace. It has a restaurant and changing rooms. The cost of the Sunbed is €5, I recommend it because there are a lot of lizards.

Be sure to visit this unique, tucked-away paradise for an informative and unforgettable experience - My daughters and I visited Faja dos Padres for a farm tour and fruit tasting during our recent family vacation in Madeira and are so glad that we did! Our host, Fatima, was happy to accommodate us on short notice and deliver a tour that educated us about the fascinating history of the farm as well as the organic farming practices used there. Our whole experience – from the cable car ride down to the farm, to a delicious lunch at the restaurant on the beach, to our pleasant and informative tour – was something we will never forget. We would recommend anyone visiting Madeira to add a visit to this unique place to their itinerary.

Very interesting tour - Fátima showed us around the plantation and gave us lots of interesting and exciting information. We had a great time on the tour and the fruit tasting was incredibly good. We'll come back anytime. On our next visit we'll also book a villa for a few days. :)

Guided tour & Fruit Tasting at Fajã dos Padres - We booked the tour with the fruit tasting via the website of Fajã dos Padres. When we arrived early in the morning (09:30), we could still park the car close to the cable lift. Although the lift officially only opened at 10:00, we were allowed to go down a bit earlier. Once we were down, we walked around the area a bit ahead of our tour. And although that was already impressive, it became much better when the tour started with Fatima. She told us all about the history of the farm. The tour helped to get a much better understanding of what the idea behind Fajã dos Padres is. Despite there only being a limited amount of fruits available, we were still able to try some of the local products under guidance of Fatima, who is extremely passionate about what she does and ensured our trip to the Fajã was a succes.

Average Experience in Faja dos Padres - Fun experience, nice location among banana and mango trees, beach side on a concrete dyke and among pebbles. Simple, aging accommodation, not very clean, but with spectacular views and a very pleasant calm (only sound of waves and animals present on the farm ). The cable car very fun, fast and safe. Now worries and food on site, breakfast from 9 am and the kitchen is closed at 5 pm and the bar at 5:45 pm, so it is impossible to improvise a nice evening to enjoy the setting, mandatory to leave the site for dinner. Very average welcome, no service (no water provided on arrival in the room ) no fruit while we are in the middle of a farm, no coffee ... and all for the Award of a 4* Inn ... it is even up to us to carry our bags for hundreds of meters to access the rooms far enough on sloping ground, while they use carts ... amazing the sense of service ... Award / performance ratio not in proportion at all....
