A pearl!! - Fatima approached us and told us a whole lot about the place. We were allowed to go with her places where you are not allowed to go, without a guide. Very educational and really interesting. We got a trip where we ended up with to taste exotic fruits and afterwards we had a lunch at the restaurant. To get down there you have to take the steepest cablecar on the island, it was really a cool experience! Fatima made the effort from the first minute we arrived and we felt like vip guests! It can only be recommended to get a guided tour! We spent about 6 hours in the area, which is clearly one of the most beautiful on Madeira. (Plus, we were allowed to buy is kilo the best avocados ever brought home!)

Lift Fajã dos Padres - The Fajã dos Padres lift is an absolute must for every Madeira visitor. The ride is entertaining and the view is simply breathtaking. The prices are slightly higher, but the experience is worth every penny. I can fully recommend the lift!

Beautiful experience - Perfect trip from the morning and drove with Bolt to the address listed on the trip here on TripAdvisor and then the cable car. We paid 26€ for a guided tour and lift t/r and were so lucky to be greeted by the sweetest and all-knowing guide Fatima, who knew everything and at the same time was super cute and answered the group's many questions perfectly. There was a lot warmer on the bottom, i.e. down on the beach, where the plantation is located, than there was on the top where the elevator started from. The guided tour took about 1h 45m. After that we walked down the concrete mole located below the restaurant where there was the most beautiful, clean and azure blue water and stairs so you can walk in the water, but at the same time also deep enough to jump from the bridge. Perfect, so remember shorts and towel. After that we went for a walk in the restaurant, which had a lot of delicious, which to the extent possible was made with its own fruit & vegetables. We of course had to try the local Malvasia hedge wine from the year. 2005, as well as a Cannings gin made on the local pitange cherries. Everything tasted great and it was definitely some perfect hours. We were there for about 4 hours and could easily spend more time there. Thanks for a perfect day 🙏❤️

A lovely spot with a great tour - We had a great tour with Fatima, there was nothing about Madeira that she wasn’t willing to chat about. It was lovely to meet someone so passionate and proud of their home. We loved her stories of the history of the Fajã and the access routes of the past. We already knew a fair amount about the fruit, but even so we learnt some new things and really enjoyed the tasting. The tour with tasting lasted about 2 hours and we even got a quick look inside the lovely holiday homes available there. Afterwards we enjoyed lunch in the restaurant by the sea. We came home with a bag of mangoes on which to try out our newly learnt cutting and preparation skills and a jar of their delicious mango jam. It’s a beautiful spot and the cable car access is fun and easy. Parking is a lot easier than many places in Madeira and the weather down on the faja was much nicer than up the top. A great trip.

Delicious, informative and fun - Fatima was a wonderful guide and couldn't be stumped by even the weirdest question about the fruit, the plantation, Madeira, it's history and people. She was bubbly and fun. The fruit tasting at the end of the tour was interesting and delicious too. Afterwards we enjoyed the restaurant and the pier. Don't forget to bring bathing suits!

Visit Madeira October 2024 - Book a hotel in Funchal and visit the island on tours, driving in Madeira is not easy and there is no place to park. With the value of car rental we know the wood with the best guides in the region.

Average Experience in Faja dos Padres - Fun experience, nice location among banana and mango trees, beach side on a concrete dyke and among pebbles. Simple, aging accommodation, not very clean, but with spectacular views and a very pleasant calm (only sound of waves and animals present on the farm ). The cable car very fun, fast and safe. Now worries and food on site, breakfast from 9 am and the kitchen is closed at 5 pm and the bar at 5:45 pm, so it is impossible to improvise a nice evening to enjoy the setting, mandatory to leave the site for dinner. Very average welcome, no service (no water provided on arrival in the room ) no fruit while we are in the middle of a farm, no coffee ... and all for the Award of a 4* Inn ... it is even up to us to carry our bags for hundreds of meters to access the rooms far enough on sloping ground, while they use carts ... amazing the sense of service ... Award / performance ratio not in proportion at all....
