Excellent Bird Watching Tour! - We had a very excellent bird watching tour with Ludo! He helped us to see and identify over 50 birds and took pictures of them (and us) to remember our trip by. The breakfast in the jungle was delicious. Would absolutely recommend Ludo and EcoColors!

A fascinating and fruitful morning of tropical bird watching near Cancun - This tour was wonderful! I went on an all-morning birdwatch with EcoColors Tours., which I arranged through Thomas Moore at my resort. They picked me up at 5:45am from my Cancun resort, included snacks and a break, and returned me to the resort around noon as promised. We drove about 45 minutes to Puerto Morelos, then went inland to the jungle areas near the Cenotes where the underground water is ideal for a profusion of tropical birds. Our guide, Luga, was very knowledgeable and spotted 47 species of birds for us. 28 of these were "lifers" (or first timers) for me, so the expedition was a huge success. Toucans! Motmots! Trogons! So many colors and types that I had never heard of. Our guide was personable and attentive to the group's needs. His English was quite good except for the pronunciations of names of bird species that I had not heard of, which he kindly spelled out. The group size will vary depending on who signs up that day; our tour was just me and one other couple, so we enjoyed a personalized and tailored experience.

The mosquitoes were more than worth it! What a day, 44 species sighted. - What an amazing day! Lugo and Axel were a great team, working together seamlessly to create a smooth and well paced day. They were both friendly and excited to be guiding us, often as excited to find birds as we were! Lugo was extremely knowledgeable, worked hard to find a favorite species for me (even though it wasn't to be found) and kept a list of all the birds we saw for us. An unexpected and delicious breakfast in a Mayan home was just the best final touch. I enjoyed thier insights on local culture and thier country too. It was so hot and humid and the mosquitoes got a bit aggressive, but it was all worth it!

Unbelievable Private Birding with Moises and Noah! A MUST - My husband and I had a wonderful experience. Moises spotted birds we would have never seen and Noah the driver was awesome also. They took us to a litte town off of Cenote road and at first I wa a little sceptical. But it was crazy how many different birds we spotted We had a nice snack with table set after a couple hours and then after we birded in we drove to a reserve for a home made breakfast. Very Private and peronal experience. Masked Tityra, Collared Aracari, Gartered Trogons, Turquoise browed Mot mots, Green Jay, 3 different breeds of orioles , Lineated Woodpecker and many more! We got picked up from our hotel in Playa Del Carmen, drove about 25 minutes and started birding!

Fantastic Birding Tour! - My husband and I absolutely loved the birdwatching tour! Our guide Lugo (and driver Axel) was an excellent guide and we observed 55 species including the White-Fronted Parrot, the Turquoise Browed Mot Mot (WOW!) and the Pygmy Owl in the Puerto Morales area. They helped us to view the birds and we were treated to a delicious homemade breakfast in the jungle! We definitely recommend Lugo and Eco Colors Tours and hope to book this tour again when we come back to Cancun. Thank you Lugo and Axel! The Gregori’s

Great morning! - We did a private morning bird tour which was led by Lugo - our hotel arranged it, and we had a great time. We were picked up on time and taken to a great spot with lots of jungle edge habitat to see many species, including endemics. Lugo was great at finding birds by ear and then getting us good looks at them. Our driver was friendly and prepared a delicious mid-morning snack for us. We visited a few other sites in the area where we saw additional species, including great looks at a Gartered Trogon. It was a fantastic way to spend the morning!

The highlight of our trip - We highly recommend this tour. Our guide José was incredible and the entire day was thoughtfully planned out. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and driven to a beautiful spot in the jungle near Puerto Morelos. Between the two locations we visited with José, he identified more than 40 bird species and a variety of regional flora. He was also very knowledgeable about regional history and was responsive to our questions throughout the entire tour. After the first part of the tour, we were prepared an awesome meal including freshly made tortillas and black beans. Eating local cuisine in the jungle was a memorable experience in its own right. Perhaps the highlight, however, was spotting a toucan! After the tour, José sent us a comprehensive list of the birds we saw via eBird, so we could recall and study the species in greater detail. We had some birding experience before this trip, but this tour is very accessible to people who have never bird-watched but simply want to get out and experience a wonderful aspect of the Yucatán Peninsula's natural environment. Despite Cancún's beautiful beaches, José's bird watching tour was the highlight of our trip!

Memorable bird-watching tour in the Riviera Maya - My sister and I took a bird-watching tour with Eco Colors guide Jose Paz. It was a highlight of our trip to the Riviera Maya. Jose took us to two different areas and we saw more than 30 different species. He was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about all the birds. He recognized them by their songs and could spot them even in the dense trees and shrubs. In the second preserve, he had also arranged a lovely lunch for us, cooked by a delightful woman over a wood fire. Jose's driver joined us and he was also a very likable fellow. It was a great experience and I highly recommend!
