Awesome experience! - Great service here and the food is amazing! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone coming here. Great quite beach with amazing views!

Awesome place - Firstable the place itself, beautiful beach, soft sand great shaded areas under palapas. Second awesome attention and service and to top it all up delicious food (try the shrimp burritos). They have vegan options too. A must stop place.

Chunky Monkey Costa Maya November 2024 - We rented a golf cart at the Costa Maya cruise port. The map provided had this place listed as the furthest beach/restaurant. Upon arriving, we were the first guests of the day. Before we had golf cart parked, they were greeting us offering drinks and food. They led us down to the beach area where there were tables and loungers. We got seated under a shady palapa. The staff were extremely kind and attentive. As we were leaving Mr. Chunky Monkey himself came out to thank us for visiting. If ever in Costa Maya again, will definitely return.

Great Atmosphere, beautiful beach, great food and good pours. - The environment was quiet and relaxing. The food and drinks were delicious. The staff was very friendly and polite. We had a mixture of beers, margaritas, and their Fresh shrimp ceviche. Massages on the beach were awesome. We will definitely come back to Chunky Monkey and their family run business.

Miss it already. - Soooooo chill. Best shrimp tacos I have had and I’m a foodie and picky as hell. It was great to get away from the port and crowds and see the relaxed vibe south of costa maya. I cried when we left. I love this place and beaches here.

Take advantage of the deckchairs and parasols - Very pleasant, feet in the sand, the sea is warm, the octopus is good fresh (we saw it caught) a large choice of menu. Active staff. Free parking, access to the beach is free (no extra charge).

Not as it appears - Was just there May 2024. First of all they do not pick you up. Their office is closed permanently. So you have to take a cab to the area. Yes seaweed was terrible. Unable to get into water via beach. We did get the boat snorkeling package and had a great snorkeling experience. The waitor was great. Food was good... but my son did get sick after. I probably won't do this excursion again.

Not as advertised. Closes at 3pm. - I did a lot of research. Goal was peaceful, quiet, good snorkeling, good food. What a bad experience. 1. While other beachclubs had removed seagrass, there was 3 levels of smelly buggy seagreass here. No effort being made. to remove it. 2. Very narrow not tidy beach. 3. Good drinks. 4. Food just barely ok. Advertised as 2nd best food on Costa Maya. Definitely not true. 5. If you call phone #, the voice mail says "Hi this is Michael" and NOTHING about chunky monkey. I thought I had been scammed. 6. Cruise got in at 8. No pickup for my family or 2 other young ladies waiting for Hector at 9. I paid for own taxi and found Hector at the beach club. No idea what happened to those 2 young ladies. Took another hour to get my adultish kids to the club. 7. Didn't all get to beach club till nearly noon and they close AT 3!!!!!! That's an expensive 3 hours. Definitely not relaxing. Cruise was in port until 5:30. 8. Included boat snorkeling trip or massage. Opted for snorkleing. IT WAS A MARATHON. Trying to keep up with leader I spend more time surfacing to find leader and trying to catch up than I did enjoying fish. Boat was unnecessary since it only went out 300 feet and sealife was unexciting despite being advertised as closest club to reef. BOTTOM LINE. This could be a nice small cheap opiton but they just don't seem to be trying. Noisy music from restaurant, dirty beach, silly marathon smorkel trip, basic food, only 3hour max. Avoid. Sorry, I really wanted to like it after all the research I did.

Beware, unscrupulous and unappolgetic - Beware of this tour company. At the last minute the beach club was changed to another location due to seaweed. Not even sure where we ended up. This beach was also full of seaweed and stagnant water, and the kids wouldn't even get in the water. Funny thing, up the coast within a 5 minute walk bit was a nice stretch of beach that was well maintained. If one club can clean up and maintain then Chunky could have also. Or if they send you to another beach it better be worth it. This ruined a valuable trip for several people. No refund offered no apologies.

terrible experience - Unfortunately I must say that this operator does not have adequate facilities and responsible transportation to provide a quality service. I do not recommend it under any circumstances, it is at your own risk to hire this type of tour operator, there are better and more responsible companies that dedicate themselves to offering the best of their work to visitors who want to know and enjoy these places of great natural beauty.
