Must try for foodies - Fantastic learning and gastronomical experience! The class was centered around making tortillas and guacamole and Mayan equivalent. We hoped for more, but they sent recipes to us. Hopefully we will be able to find similar ingredients at home. The staff was amazingly kind and helpful.

Great date night - The food was amazing & having done some of the work made it even more interesting and fun. The only issue was finding the location. The address dropped a pin in the wrong place. We were lucky to find one gentleman that helped us find it.

Details of our wonderful culinary experience at Ix-cool - What a neat whole experience! They start you off with a neat Mayan dancing and ritual, and you can choose to take photos with the dancers which we did, and of course gave them a little tip at the end. You get seated and learn about the different ingredients and make a really wonderful salsa and guacamole first, eat and enjoy with a tasty beverage right away. Then you move from the table and go learn about another set of ingredients that make some different pes that flavor the different meals that you end up eating. Then you could to make tortillas and learn how to cook them properly, and even cut one open and stuff it with beans and try it with some various salsas. Then back to the table for another super amazing green drink that was our favorite, along with some wonderful lime chicken soup. After that a full of black beans with pork that you decorate with all sorts of yummy toppings to suit your tastes. Then a taco and tostada were served with a pineapple drink, and finally each person is given a selection of one of three different desserts. The coconut cream was fantastic. All of the service was great and the young man who did our experience was exceptional. we thought this was well worth it and not only was it interesting and we learned a lot, the food was absolutely wonderful. You cook some of the things, and some things are served to you that you don’t necessarily cook but you learn about the different seasonings /spices that make the recipes. 10/10 a great experience, and our class was rather small – there was only 6 of us, and we enjoyed chatting with each other along the way. Make sure to leave a nice tip for the above average service. We gave 5 bucks each and it was by far the most anyone gave from our group which was a bit sad, because the experience was extraordinary.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience - Highly recommend this cooking class. In addition to a few recipes they teach you how to make, you also get to taste other authentic dishes, including three different Mayan drinks. The food was amazing and the teacher engaging. Great location as well. I recommend coming with an empty stomach because you will leave very full! Highly recommend this experience.

Exquisite and Delicious! Great cooking experience. - Seamless and well structured cooking experience! The staff was lovely and very welcoming. We were greeted with a welcome drink and offered refreshing drinks throughout. The course meals were extremely delicious and quickly served. We got a close-up experience to Mayan cuisine by undertanding the flavors, mix and by making our own Guac and corn tortillas. I highly recommend if you're interested to learn more about the Mayan culture and cuisine!

Fascinating and tasty Mayan Food Tour - The narration of the Mayan people coupled with explaining how the Mayan food and drinks along with Spanish imports and impact of foods was fascinating. Everything was very tasty and more than we could eat. The Mayan Cooking Tour was in a shopping center across fron the cruise pier (a very easy walk). We loved it!
