Chocolate Cheer! - We very much enjoyed our tour, and learning so much about the history of Chocolate!! The highlight, of course, was our chocolate workshop. Our guide and teacher, Paty, was delightful!!! We all came away with our own chocolate bar. So. Much. Fun.

Mayan chocolate experience - Paty was a wonderful teacher! So friendly and funny. She demonstrated how to make chocolate the traditional way and then we got to sample chocolates before buying if we chose to. The chocolate Frostys were delicious as well! This was part of a larger tour we did including the Mayan ruins. We really enjoyed this experience!

Great experience!! - Informative and Eduardo was a great tour guide! Great fun making our own chocolate! We don't drink but would have loved to take the margarita class with it. Highly recommended. You will need a cab ride from the cruise ports.

Awesome experience!!!! - AMAZING EDUCATIONAL & FUN EXPERIENCE!
Paty was exceptional during our tour and chocolate making adventure. She explained everything throughout the day, patiently taking questions. Her patience & graciousness was extended to me as I had to walk with a cane & wear a knee brace throughout the day. Her enthusiasm & knowledge made this experience both fun and informative.
My only suggestion would be for the tour description to include the fact that stair climbing is part of the tour to reach the area where we made our chocolate bars. Paty was kind enough to give me the extra time needed to reach the activity area.
Thank you again, Paty for making this a memorable part of our trip!

Worth a visit for sure - Paty was our tour guide and also conducted the workshop. She is very knowledgeable and responsive to any questions. Thoroughly educational and enjoyable. A good site with not too much walking involved. The gift shop is also worth the visit.

Interesting and fun workshop - The tour was interesting and we learned a lot about the history of cacao. Making chocolate bars was fun, although much more work than buying them at the gift shop! The tortillas with mole were delicious! Angel was a great guide.

A Sweet Experience for Everyone - The chocolate workshop was so much fun. Our tour guide, Angel, did a fantastic job translating in both English and Spanish, making sure everyone understood and felt included. He was very informative and made the experience even more enjoyable. This is a great activity for couples and families with kids. Even if you don’t have transportation afterward, they help by flagging a taxi to make sure you get back safely. Overall, a wonderful experience I highly recommend.

Great learning experience and fun chocolate making experience! - Our guide Pati taught us about the history of cacao and led us in a Mayan chocolate making excursion. We ground and seasoned the beans to come up with a personalized take-home chocolate disk that can be used as the ancients did or in more modern ways like on ice cream. Their speciality chocolate samples were delicious, and I particularly liked (and bought) the cranberry, almond, and grape milk chocolate bars. The one drawback to the excursion is that we had to take a taxi to and from the facility - don't pay more than $20 for the taxi rides! Thank you Pati for a great experience!

Mayan History: Rich in Chocolate - I booked an excursion with Margaritaville that had Mayan Ruins and Chocolate tour. We arrived here and tried fresh made tortillas with sauce. We sampled hand blended chocolate that was delicious and crunchy. We watched a video on how Mayan life was and how they used the cacao bean as money for other products for trade. We watched a live presentation by Paty about the chocolate and all the different ingredients used in it. Such as all spice, vanilla, honey, and cinnamon. We were able to check out the chocolate shop after the presentation. I tried some samples of the hazelnut and almond chocolate and the puff rice white chocolate. I ordered the chocolate margarita and it was really delicious. It was a very informative tour and a lot of fun. I love the historical aspects of everything.

Fun and Educational experience for the family - This was our first chocolate making workshop. Our guide, Paty, did a great job teaching us about the history of chocolate and its Mayan origin. It was a fun and educational experience. Highly recommend it. They had a shop that sold specialty chocolates at a reasonable price also.
