Fun Day in the Sun - It was very nice. We purchased from their website. We selected transportation to be included. Going directly through them was cheaper that through our cruise ship. Nice beach. Pools were pretty good. The slides need a little upkeep. Overall was worth the money. We purchased the cabana (but they make you give a deposit - which of course we forgot to pick up before we left - so I think they plan on people forgetting.) But still worth it. The ocean was beautiful and you could snorkel. Also they had an ocean water obstacle course which was my kids favorites. The food is super pricy - so either opt for the all inclusive food, or bring lots of water for yourself. Highly recommend sunscreen - must reapply often! Overall was worth the cost for our family.

Must stop on Cozumel with kids - This is a must if you're in Cozumel with kids. This was our 3rd time going, via Cruise ships. We occasionally pick itineraries with Cozumel for my kids to come here. My daughter is 12 and son is 10. They love the inflatables out in the water. When they were a little younger, they loved the little kids area and water slide. There is a buffet with plenty of food for everyone. Salad bar, fajitas, hot dogs, pasta, French fries, rice, beans, mashed potatoes and fruit. Open bar for beer and mixed drinks. We originally booked directly through Playa Mia. But, there was the possibility of a storm coming and Playa Mia won't refund you for weather. We canceled and booked through Viator for a slightly higher price($30 for a family of 4), because it said you're protected against bad weather. So it was worth it to have that protection if we woke up and it was pouring rain. This particular time, the morning was awesome. Got there about 930am and the sun was shining bright for about 3 hours. We saw the clouds rolling in and decided to head back to the ship at 1. Just as we got on the shuttle back, it started pouring rain. We were fortunate enough to time it right. Even for 3/3.5 hours, it was worth it. Kids love it.

Thanks Miguel for a super fun day! - We did the Playa Mia Beach break with the cooking lessons. It was fabulous!! It was so much fun and the food was amazing. The menu that day was chipotle shrimp sopa, fish with veggies and plantains with chocolate. My daughter did not like fish so they brought her some chicken instead. Miguel was so awesome! He made things super fun! They brought drinks while we were cooking and then they brought us drinks while we were eating. After that we had about a couple of hours to enjoy the beach. There are toys like kayaks and tricycles on the beach to use. Overall we had a fabulous time and would absolutely do it again!

Cozumel getaway - This was the first stop of our Royal Caribbean cruise. Amazing beach! Very fun waterpark for our eight-year-old. Highly recommend.

Lovely family beach experience - Lovely beach experience, fun floats to climb all over, good food and plenty of it, lounge chairs, and we paid for the use of towels, umbrellas and snorkeling equipment. We also bought the transportation. Plenty to do for the grandparents, kids and granddaughter. The only (frustrating) hitch was that we could never get a confirmation from Viator or Playa Mia that our full package (including towels, umbrellas, and snorkeling equipment) was confirmed. Our email confirmations kept saying that only the basic package was included. I called Viator and Playa Mia, and no one knew. Very frustrating! When we got there we learned that all of it was included.

Very nice beach resort - lots of fun! - We enjoyed Playa Mia Beach. Lots to do for the kids and the beach was nice. The only issue we had was getting there. The taxi driver charged us $99 one way from the cruise port. The sign said it should've been $44. We paid $60 on the way back. Cozumel is not like it used to be. So many ships in almost every day.

Fine but could be better! - Pros: waterslide and ocean bikes were fun! Lots of chairs on the beach and the drinks were good! Cons: even though my family can swim well, everyone is required to wear a life jacket on the inflatables which would be fine if the park had sufficient life jackets which they do not. I waited in line a long time to get the life jackets for myself and my kids but was then told I could not have three life jackets because the kids were not in line. I could also only use the life jackets for 20-30 minutes. The man running the life jacket stand was mostly slowly wandering around collecting life jackets and not distributing them efficiently. This could be solved by having life jackets available but not requiring them. Also the food was fine but not great. If you are looking for this type of experience, I would recommend Paradise Beach. Better food and no life jackets required!

I do not recommend. - Stopped here today because our cruise ship was rerouted due to a storm. This place is all about the $$ grab and wanting tips with a far below average offering. The food and drinks is far inferior to their neighbors and the neighbors have fewer people. I highly recommend going to the neighbors which provide a higher class and more personalized experience, and they are within a minute drive. They should be asking less for what is offered, not the same as the neighbors with a different experience. I left in under 10 minutes and went back to my ship.

drugged not drunk. - My husband was roofied/drugged while on the Playa Mia excursion in Cozumel purchased through RC. I had seen others reviews and chalked it up to overconsumption/people have a bit too much fun on vaca and regretting their decisions, but we both had the same drinks served oceanside by our server. I then got him one drink from the bar and after drinking it, he turned to me and said, “Something is wrong.” His eyes were glazed and he was stumbling. We told security when we got back on the ship and the guard said, verbatim, “Maybe he had too much tequila!” Wildly disrespectful. I thought we were better off being on a Royal Caribbean sanctioned excursion but that wasn’t the case. Luckily we got him back to the ship safely with us and luckily it was a 225 lb man who got drugged and not his smaller wife, mother or child.

Food Safety Concerns at Playa Mia – All Three of Us Got Sick - Our visit to Playa Mia in Cozumel was unfortunately ruined by a serious bout of food poisoning. The only meal all three of us shared that day was from their buffet, specifically the ribs and beef strips. We had eaten different meals before and after our visit, making it highly likely that something from the Playa Mia buffet was the cause. Within hours of eating, we all experienced severe stomach issues, confirming that it wasn't an isolated incident. While the resort itself seemed well-maintained, food safety should be a top priority, and based on our experience, it clearly wasn't. I’d strongly caution anyone considering eating here.
