Unique Adventure Floating Amongst the Mangroves - Our tour of Sian Ka’an with Rodrigo was fantastic. The lagoon experience felt like stepping into another world. As we entered the reserve, surrounded by lush jungle, Rodrigo pointed out hidden Mayan temples still awaiting excavation. The morning boat ride to this remote area, once a bustling trading route for the Mayans, was surreal, leaving us in awe of the rich history and beauty of the area. Floating through the channels amongst the mango trees was such a unique and relaxing experience. Rodrigo’s enthusiasm was infectious, and his preparation impressive. He brought masks for swimming, authentic Mexican snacks, and a boundless energy that kept us engaged throughout the day. His knowledge of the area's history, geology, and geography was truly impressive. He enriched our experience with fascinating stories and insights, making sure we didn’t miss a thing. The Muyil ruins were closed for renovations, so Rodrigo instead took us to swim in a cenote. This was a hidden gem that would have been difficult to find without a local's guidance. For lunch, Rodrigo chose a wonderful restaurant where we indulged in delicious Mexican cuisine and delved deeper into the region's culture and history, tracing it back thousands of years. We highly recommend this tour and if you have the chance to tour with Rodrigo, you're in for a treat. He’s more than a guide; by the end of the day, we considered him a friend.

Unique experience on Mayan canal - My son and I had a great time with Eli. He met us at our hotel and made sure we arrived at the lagoon early enough to enjoy floating down the canal on our own - it was magical and a little surreal. The current takes you effortlessly down the canal and wearing your life jacket like a nappy (diaper for our US friends) ensures you remain upright. So relaxing. Before you get there we enjoyed crossing the lagoon and then ducking our heads to travel through the mangroves to reach the canal. Eli’s positivity is infectious and I’m sure he’s my best friend Hugo’s (also Mexican ) brother from another mother :-) The ruins were closed , but Eli substituted a relaxing visit to a local cenote followed by a local lunch. Highly recommend Eli - he’s one of life’s good guys . Tip : make sure you have a waterproof pouch if you want to take photos using your smartphone . Also make sure you don’t become too obsessed with taking too many photos !!! Have a break to take it all in and relax. Instagram can wait :-)

5 stars! Highly recommend! - We decided to book one tour during our recent visit to Tulum and after much research decided to do the private Sian Ka’an full day tour with Yucatan Eli’s Tours. We were fortunate enough to get ‘El Jefe’ himself as Eli arrived to pick us up promptly at the decided upon time, all smiles and full of energy. We knew we were going to have an amazing day five minutes into the tour! Sian Ka’an was the absolute highlight of our trip. Travelling through the freshwater lagoons, the Mayan made canal and then the float down the waterway - it was the most amazing, unique and beautiful experience! Beyond this, practically speaking, my understanding is that the waterways and the float are not easily accessible without a guide, so something worthy of consideration. After the float, we had lunch and then a tour of the nearby ruins. Eli is incredibly knowledgeable, a lover of history and architecture and an amazing storyteller. We would absolutely do another tour with Eli and we highly recommend him!!

The Best Day with Elis - Eli made sure that we got there early and we were the only tour floating down the canal. It was heaven. A spoonbill flew over, there were flowers and waving grasses and of course, Eli! It was all heavenly. We got out of the water and walked about a mile on the boardwalk in quiet beauty. After that, we went to the beautiful ruins at Muyil. Eli knows everything. It was fascinating. As we were driving out, Eli spied (don't ask me how he saw it......but he did,) a turquoise-browed motmot. He said that it was rare to see them where we were - usually are seen in the underground cenotes. Way cool. We then went to eat at a fabulous local restaurant, Suspire, for the most delicious meal. Eli is so knowledgeable in the most engaging way. We lucked out.

Do not hesitate - Great guide: Rodrigo who speaks French very well He listened to me. Great walk in muyil, in the jungle and even at the top of the observatory Then boat on the lake then in the canals and the famous flowering in the canals. the idea did not make me enthusiastic but I must admit that it is very pleasant.. very zen: 40 min to float and move forward In the middle of the mangrove it's really worth it. It's a very beautiful day We're amazed Perfect organization with Yucatan Élis Tour And perfect day with Rodrigo Do not hesitate

Eli is the best! - We booked a tour with Eli for Monday and we had such an amazing time that we decided to book a second tour with him a couple days later on Wednesday. Eli and Rodrigo picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the tour location both days. Both Eli and Rodrigo were a great time to be around. We felt very safe and would absolutely book tours with them next time we are in Mexico. Sian Ka’an was very relaxing, we chose to only do the floating in the lagoon portion of the tour and skip the ruins because we had already visited the ruins prior to booking the tour. Eli easily accommodated our request for the half tour. They provided wet suits because it was a little chilly in the morning and they also had some scuba masks for us to use. Rodrigo brought along a waterproof camera and took some pictures of us however, I would highly recommend bringing a waterproof phone pouch or case. After we floated down the lagoon, the boat driver met us at a boardwalk with our shoes and towels and we walked down the boardwalk to the boat and then were taken back to the car. They truly made our time in Mexico memorable. Thank you Eli and Rodrigo!

A total blast! - We loved Eli so much! The Biosphere trip was so beautiful and perfect, the ruins were so much fun, and lunch was delicious. If we return to Tulum again, we will definitely hire Eli again, especially after learning he can help craft personalized tours. Three things stood out the most to us about Eli. First, he's very kind. Second, he's very thoughtful. Throughout the day, he made sure we had snacks and water and were able to use the bathroom. Third, he's so knowledgeable about everything that he showed us, including Tulum, the Mayan ruins, and Mayan culture in general. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and enthusiastically, and he even was able to help us understand some of the cutting edge research being done by Mayanists. His passion for the subject made learning about everything a blast. It was also just great to hear what he, a long-time local, had to say about Tulum. We highly recommend booking a tour with Eli!
