Wonderful day out at Sian Ka'an - We had a wonderful day out at Sian Ka'an biosphere with Salvador, where we were lucky enough to see ospreys, manatees and even a crocodile! Salvador was an excellent guide, informing us of the area's wildlife, history and current events. He kindly provided refreshments for us, including some cactus fruit which was fun to try! After Sian Ka'an we visited the gorgeous Dos Palmas cenote where we got to enjoy some snorkelling and afterwards he took us to a great vegan spot for lunch. Throughout the day Salvador captured some excellent photos and footage of us. I would highly recommend Best Maya Tours if you're looking for private excursions during your trip.

Great way to visit Sian Ka'an from Playa Del Carmen - Salvador arrived on time to collect us from our hotel in Playa Del Carmen. His English is superb as he resided in the UK and USA for a number of years. We were picked up in a Jeep and driven to Punta Allen within the Sian Ka'an bioshpere. From there we took a boat out and were fortunate to see glimpses of Dolphin, Manatee and a few Green Turtles. We had the opportunity to go snorkelling to see coral and additionally in a shallower area with clear water. We then went for lunch at a local restaurant in Punta Allen before we were driven back to our hotel. All in all to visit this area of the biosphere as a day trip from Playa Del Carmen I think Best Maya Tours were great value.

Wonderful personalized tours! - Our experience with Best Maya Tours was exceptional! Takeo was our tour guide, and he was full of interesting information. He made our experience very memorable. Best Maya Tours offer a number of different local tours, and they customize the excursion just as you want. Takeo took us to a small local restaurant and my son commented that the chicken was the best that he ever had! You will not be disappointed with this company.

Amazing day trip - We had an amazing trip with Salvador to explore the Sian Ka'an biosphere! We would highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting the area. Salvador was very professional and easy-going. He was extremely knowledgeable on the wildlife and history of the area, which made for a relaxing and memorable experience. He promptly arrived at our hotel the morning of the excursion and communication was excellent before the trip to confirm plans. As we drove down the peninsula, he stopped at various points to show us wildlife, flora, and explain some of the history of the local people. While the trip down to Punta Allen was long and rough at times, it was worth every minute to see the untouched beauty of the biosphere and escape the hectic Tulum area. Once we arrived in the quant seaside village of Punta Allen, we felt like we had stepped back in time to a truly relaxing Caribbean oasis. We’re already planning our next trip back to explore more of this untouched oasis. Upon arrival in Punta Allen, we stopped for a quick swim and refreshments in the bay lined with palm trees and perfect aqua water, then took a boat to see dolphins, turtles, and the bird sanctuary up close. Coasting along the perfectly still water of the biosphere was an unforgettable experience. He then took us snorkeling on the bayside at the coral reef and to some other shallow beautiful swimming spots. We had lunch at a small local restaurant right on the beach under the palm trees. We had fresh fish with some delicious local sauces. They had an option for local Lobster, but we opted for the fish instead. After our casual lunch, he took us over to a little coffee hut for afternoon espresso and brownies made with local chocolate. This day was the highlight of our trip and we definitely plan to return. Throughout the day, Salvador took hundreds of photos for us with his professional camera and shared them afterwards. This was a really nice touch since we could sit back and relax while seeing the wildlife and not worry about capturing the moment with our phones. We thought the whole excursion was very well priced for what you get, and having a private tour was such a plus since we got personalized attention all day and could ask as many questions as we wanted. Salvador brought snacks and water for us, including some of the freshest mango I have ever tried. Highly recommend this trip!

Viator Unviable - Viator allowed me to select Costa Mujeres as a pick-up point, only to find out on the day of the trip that the tour operator does not go to Costa Mujeres. Good luck getting a hold of someone at Viator who can help you.
