Additional Information

We will be venturing into this significant zone of Holbox where various species of animals peacefully dwell in this ecosystem. The ideal period to explore is just as dawn breaks, when different animals may be resting, having been more active during the nighttime, such as crocodiles. It’s a time of solitude without other people, providing a chance to appreciate private moments amid a varying display of nature. Unusual and exotic birds are likely to emerge during our rowing session, and the cooler temperatures make it ideal for paddling through the maze of mangroves. We’ll get to experience the mesmerising colours of the sunrise at the beginning of our adventure and even spot some stars before the first light of day. So, prepare yourself to be engrossed in nature as we step into the mangroves that resonate with the energy and engagement with nature, witness the hues of the flamingos’ feathers, and immerse yourself in this wild experience.

Wonderful and serene - Carlos and Diego were awesome! My friend and I messaged and booked at 9pm the prior night and they replied immediately and picked us up at 5:45am the very next morning!

Beautiful morning in Holbox! - What a beautiful way to see the nature of Holbox! Gustavo was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and the mangroves. He was also so friendly and patient with our lack of kayaking skills. We had a wonderful morning and saw so many types of birds up close including flamingos, eagles, herons, and pelicans!

Fun and interesting tour! - We were picked up near our hotel and the Guide was in the cart, along the way we already saw raccoons and a turtle nest. The Guide already told us a lot about this. The Guide knew good English making it easy to follow. He knew a lot about nature and spoke it with great enthusiasm. We have seen crocodiles and flamingos, the reason we did this tour. We have also seen more different ‘wild life’. He also kept a good distance from nature.

Haven of Peace with a Great Guide 🦩 - A magnificent tour with our Guide Carlos, who is really a super nice Guide and passionate about his job. With Diego the taxi-buggy driver, they were right on time to pick us up at the Inn at 6am. We saw different kinds of herons, white ibis, skates, eagle-fishers, a racoon, pelicans, cormorants, a kingfisher, pink flamingos and crocodiles (three!). Always respectful of wildlife, which was super important to Carlos. Small mangoes, apples and bottled water halfway 👌 Given the crowds in the center of Holbox, it’s really a good excursion. Very recommended! PS: do not forget its mosquito repellent, sunscreen and a towel to protect from mosquitoes and the sun ☀️

Magnifico! - Our guide, Carlos, was fantastic. I was unsure how exciting a kayaking tour would be but this was excellent. We saw many flamingos, herons, other birds, stingray, horseshoe crab, and a crocodile. Carlos was full of interesting information and a fun personality. This was not an aggressive 3 hour paddle, this was a relaxing mix of paddling, floating, and enjoying the sights and sounds of the mangrove. Highly recommend!

Birds, a huge croc, and more on Isla de Holbox - Gustavo was informative, passionate about the flora/fauna, and willing to provide us as much time as needed to observe the beauty. He provided a fruit (mango or banana) and water about halfway through. Also, he took numerous pictures to share with us (although I’ve not received them yet). Anyway, we definitely recommend this experience. Having previous kayaking experience is helpful (but not necessary), and some cardiovascular fitness will make this journey much more enjoyable.

OVERRATED - The site is overrated, the sandy streets almost a meter high, the expensive hotels without many services, expensive restaurants without air conditioning, the local tours very expensive and with poor service For example: Bioluminescence in kayak... When it was hired, they did not indicate that it was for children under 60 (I am 74), nor that I should know how to use the kayak and that the journey in it is 2 kilometers round trip. When they took us to the place where they leave, they did not help us and then they passed by us to take us to the hotel... They did NOT return anything!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

Fantastic scenery, tour a little less - From a naturalistic point of view, a spectacle. Flamingos and various species of birds, incredible peace. Beautiful. From a tour point of view, a disaster. The right day they did not pick us up, you plan for the next day at 6, they arrive late (indeed they do not arrive because they do not know where the hotel is, we reach them on foot). Nobody advises us to wear long clothes and a hat with mosquito net, we were assaulted (autan helps almost nothing, because it gets wet). We always fall behind the guide who is ahead 50/100 meters from us, and when finally following our scream comes to our rescue, we find that the kayak is hole below and takes on water. I'll get back on the kayak with the guide towing the hole kayak with my wife up. Experience recommended but with different organization.
