Volcano Day Tour - Great day going to the volcano. Roberto was very informative, friendly and ensured we had a good time. We hiked up the Cotopaxi volano to the base camp, bird watched with his equipment, stopped by the park museum, and had a great local lunch.

Wonderful day in the volcanoes - Carlos was a driver and Roberto our guide. They whisked us through Quito along the Pan-American highway to the Avenue of the volcanoes. Carlos managed to drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic and very rough roads up to the top of the Cotopaxi volcano. Inside the Cotopaxi National Park, Roberto managed to find the tiniest exotic birds and pulled out a tripod, Telescopic, lens, and binoculars. He pointed out the rare almost extinct Ecuadorian deer, wild horses, ducks, and birds. Inside the museum, Roberto pointed out the volcanoes Flora and fauna. he took many wonderful pictures of us and even did a video of all of the that surrounded us. On the way back to our hotel we stopped at Mirador de los volcanoes for lunch. We enjoyed our welcome drink and appetizer. My salad and our lamb platter were reasonably priced, abundant and delicious. This was a wonderful 7 1/2 hour day, we really enjoyed getting outside of keto and seeing some of the lakes, mountains and volcanoes.

Excellent Private Tour with Roberto - Had an excellent time with Roberto doing a private tour where we did the Centro Historico, Mitad del Mundo, Cotopaxi and Mindo in August 2023. He was a great guide and very professional. I would highly recommend him to travellers to Quito and the surrounding area. He speaks both English and Spanish. 10/10 would recommend.

Multiple tours with Great Horned Owl - We had a great time visiting Quito and the surrounding area with Roberto and Juan as our guides. We did 3 different day trips with Great Horned Owl tours - 2 with Roberto and 1 with Juan. They picked us up on time at our hotels, communicated well in English via WhatsApp and in person during the tours. They were full of information about the places we visited. First we went to Otavalo and Peguche water fall with stops in Cotacachi and the sun dial at the museum of the sun. Second we visited Cotopaxi and they set us up with horseback riding before a walk around the lake. We had considered biking at the volcano but Roberto smartly advised against it and when we saw the people biking on the roads there we were very glad to have done horseback riding instead. Third, we visited Quito’s Old Town and learned a lot about all the churches in the city. We would definitely recommend others to use.

Juan Cevallos was Excellent! - Had a great experience with Juan Cevallos! He was friendly, professional and full of knowledge. Juan is an avid historian that is heavily involved in promoting the truth about the Spanish invovlement in the Americas. It was refreshing to come across someone that didn't tote the "black legend" historical fallacy that Spain ONLY pillaged and plundered the region. The actual trip to Cotopaxi was marred by bad weather so unfortunately the views weren't great. However, we did have a nice walk around the lake and were able to observe the beautiful wild horses. For lunch and to make up for the bad weather, Juan took us to a former colonial Spanish hacienda now a boutique hotel which was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend you book a tour with Great Horned Owl and if possible request Juan, you won't regret it! Gracias Juan por todo, un abrazo.

Beyond Expectation - We booked the tours through our hotel and the tours were beyond expectation! I traveled with another family member and we booked three tours (City tourism + The Middle of the World; Cotopaxi + Quilotoa; Papallacta). The driver Victor and guide Juan were really amazing and perfect! We had no complaint! Juan really knew the area and gave us very good suggestions as to how to best enjoy each place! He was very knowledge and patient. He let us decide what we wanted to do and never rushed us. I highly recommend this agency and our tour guide to everyone!

Took our breath away - We went with Hugo to Cotopaxi on a very cloudy day but as we drove towards the National Park the clouds broke and we got a great view of Cotopaxi. Hugo took us through the Countryside which was great as one got to see a lot how people lived and the roads they deal with. We drove all the way up to the parking lot on Cotopaxi and proceeded to walk towards the Refuge, but WOW it was hard to breathe. We walked for about 10 min and had to admit defeat, we could not go further, it was an eye opening experience Hugo then drove to the Lake, unfortunately it started to thunder and rain so we could not walk around. We then went to the little Cotopaxi museum where we learned a bit more about the volcano. Just down a little path from there is a small home style restaurant where we enjoyed Ecuadorian fare for a very good price. Although it was cloudy and rainy most of the day it was a great experience and Hugo was full of information about his country.

Fantastic views and great guide! - Went with Juan Cevallos to hike up the volcano and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Juan has great English and loves to talk about the different sites and life in general. Would recommend him everytime (especially for food recommendations which were fantastic since I'm still thinking of the fritadas we had for lunch!)

Two terrific days - Roberto was perfect. He took us to Cotapaxi for a day, with a stop at a terrific restaurant in a 300-year-old building, now a boutique hotel, where we had a lovely lunch, and the next day to Mindo, where we visited a hummingbird hangout and a lovely orchid garden. Highly recommended.
