DEPARTURE FROM QUITO | TREKKING IN THE JUNGLE | RIVER TUBING | NIGHT WALK

Quito - Departing from Quito, embark on a journey to immerse yourself in the wonders of the jungle and experience the lifestyle, traditions, and beliefs of the Kichwa Culture. En route to Tena, our driver will make stops, weather permitting, to marvel at the Antisana volcano, Papallacta lake, and Guacamayos viewpoint, adding extra charm to your adventure.

Volcan Antisana - At 4100 meters above sea level, if the clouds part, you can capture stunning photos with the majestic Antisana Volcano as your backdrop. As we journey onwards to Tena city, our route offers numerous picturesque spots perfect for making lasting memories. Feel free to request stops along the way, and our driver will gladly accommodate, ensuring you capture the beauty of each moment along your journey.

Playa de los Monos - Puerto Misahualli, much like Playa de los Monos, is nestled at the confluence of the Misahuallí and Napo rivers. Renowned for its breathtaking jungle vistas and vast sandy beach, this serene locale captivates tourists.

Yet, the real allure of Misahualli lies in its resident monkeys. These lively creatures roam the beach and wander into the town’s central park, enchanting visitors with their playful antics.

Misahualli - Upon arrival at the Ecolodge, our staff will assist with your luggage for the approximately 10-minute walk from the Pusuno River to the Reception Ecolodge.

Our expedition leader and native guides are ready to kick off your journey with us. Here are some of the main activities and experiences we offer: night walks, river excursions, kayaking on the lagoon, and spa therapies featuring jungle medicinal plants.

Feel free to combine these activities as you wish. Each evening, you’ll meet with your guide to plan your time with us or add more optional activities or adventure sports.

If you have any specific requests, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help!

After you’ve had time to relax, join us at the restaurant for a Welcome Lunch before we embark on a jungle walk with our native guide.

Sendero Ecológico El Gran Ceibo - Embark on a trekking adventure in the jungle along the Giant Ceibo Trail. Your guide will lead you through half a dozen trails, each varying in difficulty and duration, ranging from half an hour to 4 hours. These trails wind through the dense and humid rainforest, connecting to the river or lake. You’ll traverse muddy paths while keeping an eye out for the elusive fauna of the area. Don’t forget to bring your long socks to wear with the rubber boots and sandals for a comfortable journey!

Rio Pusuno - After the jungle guided walk, return to the Ecolodge to change into swimming attire before heading to the river beach for a tubing adventure. Don’t forget to bring your sandals!

The cool water provides a refreshing respite after hiking in the jungle. Floating down the river on a tube, your hand-rowing skills will be put to the test. With the sky above and tree-lined banks beside you, it feels like stepping into a dream. Whether you embark on this adventure solo or with a partner, it promises tranquility and serenity—a peaceful way to enjoy the Amazon river.

Suchipakari Amazon Eco Lodge & Jungle Spa, Ecuador - At 7:30 PM, dinner is served.

After dinner, prepare your flashlight and camera for a thrilling night excursion. Experience the wonders of sharing the same space with nocturnal animals. Encounter owls, fishing bats, tarantulas, snakes, and frogs, among other fascinating creatures of the Amazon Rainforest.

NAPO RIVER EXCURSION | ANIMAL REFUGE CENTER | INDIGENOUS FAMILY VISIT | ANACONDA ISLAND | CERAMICS & CRAFTS

Suchipakari Rainforest Hotel Jungle Lodge Ecuador - After breakfast, prepare with the rubber boats provided by the lodge as we embark on a forest walk and cross the river to reach the Napo River.

Bajo Pusuno (Ahuano) - Once at the Napo River, we’ll travel by canoe. This boat trip offers a mesmerizing journey through the Amazon Rainforest, as we navigate along a river that winds through the jungle like a giant snake. The Napo River is considered the main system of Pacha Mama (Mother Earth), showcasing the magic and beauty of the Amazon.

Rio Arajuno - First, we will visit Amazoonico, a sanctuary dedicated to protecting various Amazon animals, including some endangered species. Unlike a traditional zoo, Amazoonico serves as a rescue center for Amazon animals in Ecuador. Here, we can observe these animals up close in environments that mimic their natural habitats, allowing for a more immersive and educational experience.

Laguna del Caiman Negro - Continuing by canoe, we’ll arrive at “Anaconda Island.” Here, we’ll have the opportunity to observe fascinating wildlife, including the prehistoric bird, the “Hoatzin,” as well as woolly monkeys, squirrel monkeys, and more.

Ahuano - It’s mesmerizing to watch the indigenous woman skillfully mold clay from the riverbed into delicate little bowls. During this encounter, a local will demonstrate how their community creates crockery from natural materials found in the forest, showcasing the techniques used to seal and decorate them. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase these beautifully crafted items as souvenirs.

Afterward, we’ll return by canoe to the Eco-Lodge.

Rio Pusuno - In our pursuit of enhancing your well-being, we’ve introduced a new menu featuring healthy snacks. Refresh yourself in our shallow pool with fresh juices and cocktails made from local products. Alternatively, indulge in one of our specialized treatments offered by our masseurs to recharge your batteries.

Please note that drinks and massages are not included in the package.

Afterward, enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at the lodge.

Jungle Jason - No words! We loved it so much we extended our stay. Our guide Brian was the best, went above and beyond for us - took us tubing on our free day, a trip highlight for sure. Would recommend Suchipakari to anyone visiting the Ecuadorian amazon! Keep an ear out for the wild frogs 🐸

If you are in Ecuador, do not miss this trip! - It is a wonderful treat to been guided by a person who truly loves the rain forest. After the first day (tubing, rainforest walk, nightwalk) there was a guide change: on the second day, we went with Carlos Yaku Waira for the whole day, and we did cacao/chocolate on the last day with him, too. His friendly and time-embracing style was a real treat, and he opened our eyes for the rain forest. Thanks to him for this unforgettable and once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Highly recommend- Carlos and Alex made this an unforgettable experience! - Carlos and Alex were the bomb!!! From start to finish it was a wonderful, easy and well supported time. The accomodations, while not fancy, were clean, comfortable, and had a simple charm. We had a surprise visit from a tiny bat that the staff carefully and quickly relocated to the jungle. The drive down and back up to Quito with Alex was beautiful with fun stops for food and adventure. Don't miss the caverns and hot springs if you have time! Definitely grab a cheese empanada, too! Carlos is super knowledgeable and we got to learn about the jungle plants, animals and insects from a master. We thoroughly enjoyed our travel companions and the shared eating experience. We would definitely recommend and look forward to a return trip! Thanks Suchipakari. Elysa, Delilah and Viggo!

Worth every penny :) - Wow, what can I say, this trip far exceeded my expectations. We were picked up from Quito in a veru comfortable car with our great driver Alex (we had the car all to ourselves, even though it was technically shared transport) and taken to Suchipakari, a little slice of paradise nestled deep into the jungle. We upgraded our room to one with a jungle view and weren’t disappointed, although the rooms with private jacuzzis also looked great. The three days were packed full of activities. The first day was literally just the two of us guests, Alex our driver and our lovely masseuse came along too! We had our own private guide Brayan who was extremely knowledgeable and was able to tell us about all the plants and creatures in the jungle. On the first day we had a pretty muddy jungle hike, river tubing and night hike. Finished off with some cocktails in the jacuzzi (sadly the swimming pool is out of action for the foreseeable). The second day included chocolate making, wildlife rescue centre, indigenous families, ceramic making and we added in some cocktails and massages also. It was a fantastic birthday and the staff did everything to help make it one to remember, in organising a birthday cake for me on the first night. All the staff on site were super friendly, our masseuses were fantastic (bamboo and hot stone!), our tour guide Brayan was very attentive and spoke great English with lots of enthusiasm. We got to meet the son of the owner of the place, Santiago who enlightened us on the history of the lodge and how the jungle has been changed in the last 30 years. Couldn’t have asked for better value for money in my opinion. I would definitely recommend!

Lovely Amazon Experience - We had a wonderful time and liked the lodge, which had good food. The itinerary was great and packed with lots of activities. Brian, our guide, was awesome and shared a ton of great history and information. Drivers were great and super flexible with the optional activities during the drive to and from the lodge. Overall, we would definitely pick this 3 day Amazon tour again.

Incredible trip, cannot recommend enough! - Carlos 1 was an INCREDIBLE guide! Everything on this trip was amazing from the personal pickup from Eric from our he scenic drive through the Andes (with as many bathroom breaks as I wanted) to walks tailored to our pace through the jungle we had an incredible time and came home with pottery hand made from the Kichwa people we visited. My personal favorite was the trip to Amazoonica, an animal sanctuary where we were joined by a troop of wild monkeys in the trees. I cannot recommend it enough!

Average - We found a lot of the experience to be misrepresented. We upgraded to the jacuzzi room, but the jacuzzi was empty, we asked them to fill it, they did and it was super dirty, and then they drained it later that same night. There was also ongoing construction the entire duration of our stay, so instead of hearing the sounds of nature, we were listening to construction equipment go the whole time. Some of the outings were interesting and a cool cultural experience, others (like the chocolate "tour") just took place on the property of the hotel. Also, the food wasn't great.
