Upon arrival in Ecuador, a guide will be waiting at the airport to welcome you and escort you to your selected hotel for an overnight stay.
QUITO CITY TOUR & EQUATOR LINE
Quito Old Town - Quito City tour & Equator Site
The city tour begins early in the morning at the Panecillo viewpoint, offering a stunning view of Quito’s beauty. The tour includes a two-hour walk through the old city, visiting highlights such as San Francisco Church, Compañia de Jesús Church, and Sagrario Church on “Calle de la Siete Cruces” or Garcia Moreno Street. The tour also includes a visit to the Presidential Palace lobby at Quito’s main Square and the Basílica del Voto Nacional, Ecuador’s first Gothic Church, which provides another excellent viewpoint of “The Avenue of the Volcanoes.”
Next, the tour proceeds to the Equator Site to explore the renowned Inti Ñan Museum (The trail of the Sun), where visitors can learn about the equator and stand at the center of the world. Lunch will be enjoyed at a typical restaurant before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
OTAVALO INDIAN MARKET & SURROUNDINGS
Otavalo Market - After breakfast, the journey continues to Imbabura Province, with several stops for photos along the way. The destination is the Otavalo Indian Market, where visitors can explore local crafts, including blankets, sweaters, shirts, and wall hangings made from llama and alpaca wool. There is also time to visit the fruit & vegetable market and stroll through this charming town.
Following the market visit, the tour stops in Cotacachi, known as “the Leather Town,” for lunch at a typical restaurant. The day concludes with a visit to Cuicocha Crater Lake before returning to Quito for an overnight stay.
COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK VISIT
Cotopaxi National Park - After breakfast, the tour heads to Cotopaxi National Park, covering 99,000 acres with a variety of trails, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano.
At the Limpiopungo lagoon, located at 12,700 feet, visitors can enjoy the diverse flora and fauna and hike around the lagoon’s shore, where native Andean birds are abundant.
The tour then ascends to the Cotopaxi Staging Area at 14,850 feet, where there is a chance to see a condor in flight. From here, visitors can climb to the basecamp. The day ends with an overnight stay in Baños.
WATERFALLS ROUTE
Baños - Waterfalls Route
In the morning, the tour includes a bike ride down the Avenue of the Waterfalls. Along the way, visitors can cross the River Canyon by zip line or cable car to enjoy the scenery. The journey continues to Rio Verde village, home to the stunning Pailon Del Diablo waterfall, fed by waters from Llanganates National Park.
(Additional activities such as water rafting, canyoning, hiking, or a motor tour can be combined with the waterfall visit on the return to the hotel.)
CHIMBORAZO VOLCANO TOUR
Volcan Chimborazo - The day begins with a departure from Baños City to Chimborazo Volcano, using public transportation for a journey of approximately 3 hours.
This will be the highest altitude experienced on the trip, possibly the highest ever at 5,000 meters above sea level. The altitude offers a unique experience!
At the park, the tour reaches the first basecamp at 4,700 meters, followed by a hike to the highest point, known as Whymper refuge. From here, the breathtaking Andean views can be enjoyed before continuing to Alausi City for an overnight stay.
CUENCA CITY TOUR & SURROUNDINGS
Cuenca - Cuenca walking tour & Turi Viewpoint
The morning is dedicated to exploring Cuenca City, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site since 1999.
Key sites include Calderon Park (Central Square), the Modern and Old Cathedrals, the Flower Market, and Larga Street with its colonial houses, all offering unforgettable experiences.
The tour also visits the Tomebamba River and the Broken Bridge, both famous landmarks. A must-see is the Ethnographic Museum (Museo de las Culturas Aborigenes), renowned for its unique art collection from across the country.
Guayaquil - The journey continues to Guayaquil city, with stops along the way to admire the beautiful views of the Andes and Coastal regions.
